I think people are specifically outraged about the migrant worker deaths and modern day slavery and less the bribery at the minutes. If you've got evidence of German slave labor (specific to 2006 obviously) I'm all ears.Corruption runs the world buddy. Do you genuinely believe countries like South Africa, Russia or Brazil won the rights to host the world cup fair and square? If you do, the jokes on you buddy.
I used Germany as an example because many reports have implicated Germany to have bribed their way into securing the 2006 WC. In fact, a quick Google search would do you wonders. But when a European country like Germany does corruption, it's all part of the game, isn't it? But once an Eastern country does it, all hell breaks loose.
I would add the lack of infrastructure, the heat, the complete disruption to the global footballing calendar...I think people are specifically outraged about the migrant worker deaths and modern day slavery and less the bribery at the minutes.
Yes, although these things are not the focus of the German team spelling out "Human Rights."I would add the lack of infrastructure, the heat, the complete disruption to the global footballing calendar...
It's it just me that thinks all these World Cup "protests" are incredibly hollow? It's basically national teams pretending to care whilst playing qualifiers for a tournament they pretend to be mad about.
Must admit I've been enjoying watching the World Cup qualifiers these past few days. Meaningful international footie is a good spectacle, just wish they'd scrap pointless friendlies.
Great to see fans in Amsterdam for this Netherlands v Latvia game too.
Yes England vs San Marino was only football in name only. International football qualifying especially for England has in effect become friendlies but by another name. In recent qualifying tournaments England have strolled through every time almost eyes closed.
At least the nations league and premier friendlies match you with quality opponents, qualifying is the same only with far inferior or even pathetic opponents.
Another one tonight with The Rep of Ireland playing Luxembourg and the Irish have managed to keep it nil nil for the first half hour.

I don't care about the English national football team mate. When I was saying I've enjoyed the World cup qualifiers, that was in reference to pretty much any team bar England.
