Pish poor from La Liga to "punish" Barca and their fans for something outside their control. Imagine the protests and petitions having flown 2,000 miles to watch the RS or Man U only to find their was a BNP march outside the ground..
Apparently Barça asked the Spanish Football League and the Spanish FA to suspend the match and were told no. They considered not playing. The match would have been awarded to Las Palmas as a 3-0 win and Barça would have been docked a further 3 points.

One group of players led by Pique didn't want to play. Another group, led by Messi wanted to play. After a vote amongst the team they decided to play and the club announced it would be behind closed doors shortly before the match started. Reports vary between 10 minutes and half an hour before.

One would hope they would reimburse the fans totally. Not many Las Palmas fans but those who were there had made a bloody long, and I magine quite expensive, trip.

Plus a lot of Barca tourists. Yesterday on the radio, there was one lad out there on a Monarch flight just to see Barca play - unlucky.
