If you’re talking Relgation play offs, the easiest solution is surely to do what happens in Germany and France?

Have the 18th team face 3rd from the division below? Or extend the playoffs to 3rd Vs. 6th, 4th Vs. 5th, winners play each other then face the side who finishes 18th.

All one legged at home ground, with the final game being at Wembley.

But it won’t ever be fair until the money in the Premier League drops, because how many times have we seen the sides in the Premier League be too strong for most of the championship?

I'm on an England based forum and no one feels they have greater latitude to decide who does and does not count in football, or tbh the world in general, than the English. Of course I'm outnumbered.

On the other hand I'm listening to a prominent NFL show with an English analyst on and no one has suggested that his analysis is inferior because of where he comes from even in jest. So you really can do it if you try hard enough.

Has the English analyst suggested a completely ludicrous idea that makes a mockery of the sport? That might be why he hasn’t been roundly mocked.

Yes, but the statements about who is and isn't a fan you've made are much more general. And then you've got Whittle basically saying anyone who lives more than 10 minutes from the ground doesn't count. The issue at hand is more the angst that the English feel because they're losing "their" sport. I can empathize with that but you're going after the wrong targets. Boehly is just saying it out loud in a way the other owners won't.

Believe it or not billionaires who are sucking the life out of all of society didn't spare football. But that's all I've got to say here. Maybe I'll start a guillotine thread over in the ale house.

It won't fly, no real club is going to let their assets play a meaningless match - hell look how much we go berserk now when a player is injured during an international fixture.

If they want to show case global football there might be a charity game where you have lots of leagues and players involved. To create a north/south rivalry to showcase premier league football no way. Put it out your mind as it ain't happening.
