Todd Boehly. A man...who wants an all-star game.

I dunno, I'm not the finance guy, Sell the rights, sell advertising, sell tickets.
If they let their players play pointless Nations cup international friendlies, maybe they will let their players play for this.
The bottom 14 teams will be playing for an extra Europa spot.
I'm not bothered if it doesn't happen.
but I'm not outraged if it does.
For all the "leave football alone" shouts
When I was a kid, it was 2 points for a win, the players wore team numbers not squad numbers, there was no names on jerseys, there was 22 teams in the league, the revenue was divided among 92 teams, there was 2 subs (I think), you could pass back to the goalie, there was no VAR or water brakes and only the best team played in the European cup.
.....and yet no one had the brains to think of an All Star Game? You have to wonder what they were thinking of.
Plus no one is “outraged”. Too busy laughing at what a pointless idea it is.
In August each year, everyone moans about the wretched “Community Shield” and yet now, the nearest thing in comparison is getting some; “Weeell.....it might not be that bad”.

sure, I don't see it happening.
I just don't think it's in the same category as 'lets start a super league'.
Also, I think it's not a terrible idea to scrap the league cup, free up fixtures and come up with a more novel way to fund the Football league and grassroots leagues.
Maybe this is not the idea but it's worth having the conversation.

Well yes, some of your suggestions are good ones and worth discussing I agree.
But none of them have been linked to the suggestion of The All Star Game. Nor has anyone suggested it is as catastrophic an idea as the Super League. It is still, imo, a stupid idea.

Depending on the sport, American All Star Games are a joke. The NFL Pro Bowl is notorious for unphysical play and people backing out of the game. Hockey is similar. Baseball and basketball at least resemble a real game because the risk of injury is lower.

A footy all-star game would fall on the joke side. No one's going to sprint 50 yards to chase down a ball in the channel or put in a serious tackle.
Very true.
Here’s the best moment from a Pro Bowl that I can remember.
RIP Sean Taylor

Astonishing how little these American owners understand the game they’ve invested hundreds of millions into.
When the Chelsea owner was sanctioning £60m bids for Gordon people realised he had little clue about the game, when Moshiri was knocking back said bids people realised that the Everton owner has even less of a clue.
