This. I trust Martinez so much, I have trouble weighing in on these issues. I also think Martinez knows how to get a bargain, which is important here.

What would have been the asking price for Cleverly this time last year after Utd had won the league ?
Utd have had a rotten season and some players have suffered more than most...Cleverly probably most of all.

If RM wants him then that is good enough for me although he strikes me as a player that does most things well
but doesn't excel in any one area.However he is still young and developing as a player.

As Moyes has now left Utd we have no idea if Cleverly will still be for sale this summer.
I remember a few seasons ago there were strong rumours that Darren Fletcher was Everton bound and a lot felt he wasn't good enough for Everton.

How many former Wigan players would this make? Already have Baines, Alcaraz, McCarthy, Kone, Robles, forgetting anyone? Not saying it's bad as clearly Baines and McCarthy are exceptional. Just curious.

I rate the lad good engine on him, comfortable in possession can score a goal, and keeps the ball very well

The fact he plays for united doesn't help, looked very very good in his year at Wigan, Roberto knows what he's doing and having managed him for that year, he'll have a very good idea of the lads main strengths and what he'll bring to our team, it's a squad game, and he'll fit in rather well I think

not sure we can judge martinez after one summer transfer window of only being interested in wigan related transfers @Barkley85. it's understandable to get guys in who you know when you're starting out.
