I thought you gave players a chance, mate? You've probably spent more time in the Goodison bogs than he's spent on the pitch this season.

I NEVER use the bogs at Goodison mate, when I first took the boy I used to have take him in there, but now hes old enough to go on his own, its like the twlight zone in there mate.

Ive gotta have somebody to vent on, ive selected Kone, before him it was Naismith, he soon showed me, hopefully Kone does the same, I just cant shake that League Cup game against Stevenage, God he was BAD.

Romelu's had a few absolutely woeful games as well mate. He just hasn't played enough to judge. I've genuinely seen him play more for Wigan than Everton.

To say Roms had some woeful games is putting it mildly.

To be honest when he signed I thought he would score at least 10+ goals, clearly hes been very unlucky with his injury, also im gonna be honest and this wont be a popular view, but he really peed me off with his fasting BS, I dont respect his religion, I dont respect anybodys religion, I only respect Everton, so that didnt sit right with me, but its a minor issue compared to how utterly tosh he played.

Lets hope the injury hasnt washed away the limited talent he had, nobody would be happier if he starts slotting for fun and nobody will cheer louder than me.

Cleverley is a confidence player who clearly needs someone to put an arm around him like Martinez.

He's been crap for United but their whole team has been crap this season really, Cleverley was just one of the ones it's easy to point the finger at and abuse because he's not been there and experienced success for years like the likes of Carrick, Rooney, Evra and Ferdinand all have. Same applies to Fellaini. Whereas that lot I listed off get the benefit of the doubt off of a lot of their fans and the media, players like Cleverley, Fellaini and even Mata when he first signed and didn't score any goals for a bit, get ridiculed and hounded for being terrible and have no right to play for the mighty Man Utd.

If Cleverley came here I'd give him a chance. He'd be away from the spotlight of playing for a media-darling club where every wrong move would be scrutinised and he'd have supporters who (for the most part) would be patient and let him settle. Martinez got it bang on the nail-head when he spoke about Naismith, when a player feels the constant pressure not to make a mistake and they just want to get through a game of football without being moaned at, it kills their confidence. Players need to feel like themselves if we're going to get performances out of them.

The only doubt I have over potentially getting him is the fee we'd pay. I would not pay the £6m-£8m fee for him that's being bandied around, that's a lot of money to us and we have other positions we need to improve. £4m sounds fair.

All fair points, about the fee, i would say we would pay his value as reflected by his importance and value to the united team, the fans and the media, and that would not be much the way he has been hounded by them all

For me, he falls into the same category as Jones...... I honestly can't see what they do... I know I don't watch Man u regularly, but usually players with some sort of reputation stand out now and again.... Seriously, what does Jones and cleverly do? I would genuinely like to know...

It's a fact that Cleverley has been absolute mince this season, ask any United fan who's have the misfortune of watching him when selected.

At the kind of figures being talked about, I'd weep if we signed him.

Ask Alex Ferguson what he thinks of Tom Cleverly. Twelve months ago Cleverly was very highly regarded and probably would have cost in excess of 15m to buy considering his age and his nationality.

His career has taken a nosedive largely because of David Moyes and dips in form that sometimes happen to young players.

I doubt that he will leave Utd.I think Van Gaal may not want anybody sold until he has had a good look at his squad(I assume he will be appointed manager).
Unless Cleverly is determined to leave the club and has only twelve months left , I don't see him leaving or being sold cheaply.

Of all the rumours so far this summer this annoyingly feels the most likely.

Because Roberto has worked with him before and because Cleverley has been pants for MUFC, I agree. I think it will turn out to be an okay transfer though. Cleverley is not as bad as he has been made out to be this season and is still a young, developing player in my mind. Players progress at different rates (look at Lallana) and I think Cleverley has his best in front of him.

To those saying Cleverly is crap because he didn't impress/play enough this last year under Moyes, let's make sure to keep in mind how Moyes continually stuck with Phil Neville and Tony Hibbert over Seamus Coleman. Or playing nearly every central midfielder in the line-up on the right wing for what can only be explained as a fetish. I don't know about Cleverly as I haven't watched him play very much, but let's just remember who he was playing for in the last year of his development before we go calling him crap.
