I personally think that most of us are willing to give the lad a chance.

I fear that the negative posse are just shouting louder on this, that's all.

Really saddens me how BAWK this thread is.

He's not taking a transfer fee, he wants to come to Everton and he's a lad with talent. Is he going to be the answer to all our problems? Of course not. But everything single signing we make doesn't have to be a superstar one. Look at the where we signed the 84/85 from.

He could turn out not good enough and if he does then we will make some money off him.

But that's miles down the path. A good start to summer's business.

100% Chico lad, 100%.' Some absolute cock-jockeys on here saying it's a bad signing ffs

He's a good lad, turned down an 8m move to Villa to come here on a free.

We get behind him and give him the support, the lad could surprise us, it's all win.

I don't often agree with you but with this I do.

Well things could be a lot worse, we could be posting on the " Cleverly rejects Everton and goes to Villa" thread. He's shown faith in us, the least we can do is give him a fair crack at it. Reality is we can't compete with the RS for the likes of Milner, and while at this moment I'd rather have had Milner , over 5 years we could well prove to have done the better deal. An England international , free, 25 years old what's not to like , worst case is he doesn't cut it and gets sold to a club newly promoted to the PL , best scenario we've got an experienced player who will be around for many years helping to bring through the talented youngsters we have.

Anyone who puts on the royal blue shirt should be given a chance. And even then, if he doesn't initially live up to expectations should be given another chance. It's a 5 year contract so the bare minimum he will be here will be 2 years. Let's see what he can do.

My biggest worry would not be about his ability because he obviously has that, but about whether he can produce it often enough. This will depend on whether or not he is used properly so it's over to you Senor.

Welcome to our parish Mr Cleverley. Always remember Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. God bless.

Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

The lad has his head screwed on, he knows we are a great club, he stuck two's up to Man U and cost them a fee to come here.

That tells me he's looking to get games and further his career at a club that is good for him, he's made the right choice, he's no mug.

He's a good prospect, on a free, we've done very well out of this any way you want to look at it.

I work with a lot of Villa fans. They're gutted. Give him a chance? Young, free, International, worked with Roberto.
