When was the last time we won the European Cup?? We never have.

Villa have got a great history like us. It's an article by a 14 year old fan who in his lifetime has not seen Villa or Everton win a trophy. He will look at the honours list and see they have more honours than us.

Check the league title totals. That is what counts the most. Fact.

Well he wern't around to see it!

For the most successful club in a city of over 2m people, they really don't have that much to crow about, do they? We reside in a city of less than a quarter of that and have more league titles than them. Their neighbours have won far FAR less than ours as well.

You've lost the argument by bringing Libpewl football cult into the discussion.

Have I? You're the one comparing villa as a bigger club than us ffs?

The reason I brought the shoite into it was self-explanatory......but I guess I'm gonna have to spell it out for you, aren't I?

Birmingham = 2 clubs in a city with a population of circa 2.4m. Neither has had an average attendance in any season of >50k.

Everton has - ergo, better supported.

Not only better supported, but more league titles in a smaller city (About 20% the size of B'ham) with the competition in said city being a lot stiffer.

To be the boyos in europe means FA if you aren't the boyos in your own backyard.

I think you must be confused or something, all I said was " Villa have won more trophies "

The only person saying Villa are bigger is a 14 year old boy. I suggest discussing demographics with him if it makes you feel better.

So on the basis of what you are saying, Newcastle would be a better supported club than us.

Thread's about Cleverley lads, not Villa's history.

Fair dinkum.

Would like to know how/in what way Cleverley's joining a 'smaller club' than Villa by joining us @Moomin - seeing as you've openly sympathised with some spotty 14y.o. twerp with that exact assertion?

Indeed, furthering his 'argument' by saying they've won more trophies, then having the gall to say someone lost the argument by mentioning the quality of their respective neighbours?!!

So, for clarification.

1. Is Cleverly at a bigger club at villa or Everton?

2. If Everton, WHY have you furthered the twerp's cause - on an Everton forum of all places - with your: "they've won more trophies" argument if it's NOT to put a case forward for villa being bigger than Everton? You really should keep quiet, rather than offer some paltry case that's easily shot down.

3. Where's Cleverley likely to win the more trophies/ gain the most relative successes? Here, or at villa?

4. Totally unrelated, I know, but how many clubs in the city of Newcastle? Remind us all when they last won ANYTHING, and why hasn't Cleverley joined them?

I simply stated a fact, Villa have won more trophies. Never said anything about being a bigger club.

Seriously, you are being very RAWKish by getting upset over what a 14 year old has wrote on the internet about his team.

At this moment in time I'd say we have a better squad than Villa so hopefully a better chance to win trophies for Tom Cleverley.

Regarding Newcastle, you were the one who brought demographics into the argument. Newcastle is a much smaller city than Liverpool population wise. Also, I'm not bothered about the last time they won something. I'm only concerned about us, 20 years is too long in my eyes. I don't think they made an offer for him as well, would be tough for him to join if they never had made him an offer.

You didn't need to.

I see - resort to 'kopite behaviour' tactic. Who says I'm upset by what HE wrote? I'm more annoyed by YOU, for: A/ Agreeing with the twerp by making a ridonculous case for him (Fair play to him & all them trophies etc) and B/ Accusing me of kopite behaviour when what you've said in 'A' is bang on in it's own right.

At this moment in time I'd say we have a better squad than Villa so hopefully a better chance to win trophies for Tom Cleverley.

Ah, an answer related to the thread...well done. Except I notice you completely swerved my opening question - about the bigger club that Cleverley has chosen to join........Why IS that, I wonder?

Yes, I DID bring demographics into the equation - or are you saying they're irrelevant? Of course - only trophies matter as to what makes a club 'big' don't they?

I'm well aware newcastle didn't make an offer - but my guess is that even if they had, Cleverley would've joined us anyway. We're bigger than them too - We MUST be........ We've won more trophies than them, haven't we?

No offence but this is getting a bit tedious. Can you not just drop it?

Back on topic - The more I think about it the happier I am with this signing and on a free it seems to be a no brainer to me.

I don't agree with people saying he could block the progress of some of our youngsters. If they're good enough then they'll force their way in - which is how it should be.

If you count Charity Shields, we've won more than Villa.
If you count Villa's Division 2 & Division 3 title wins, then they've won more.

Don't think you should count Division 3 though, given we've never been as low as that Division and thus have never had an opportunity to win it (nor would we want to).
