Not quite analogous but I was thinking today of the fumery (had the internet existed at the time) at Peter Reid joining us....

You never know!

Perhaps we'll see 433 played more with one of Barry/Besic/McCarthy as the central holding midfielder and two of McCarthy/Barkley/Cleverley/Gibson/Osman used on the left and right in more attacking roles.

I do rather like the sound of that. Either

Besic
McCarthy Cleverley

Or

McCarthy
Cleverley Barkley

Be good that.

Funny I mentioned that earlier, he does fit into that type of role but in the modern game, ie great engine and can put a foot in but not yet dying his hair a strange purple colour

I never cease to be amazed by the level of fume Evertonians can generate.

If we could harness it and use Cleverley we can solve the world energy crisis.

Honestly like. Sound like you watched the lad a bit - fair play!

Well it was pretty certain he would sign IMO, you could just tell he 1) Didnt want to stay at Villa and 2) El Fraudo cries himself to sleep dreaming of him. I did watch him a lot a few years back and he was bang average, didnt really see any room for improvement and if im honest, he hasnt improved a great deal, but, as I say, it looked likely he would sign, so thought I would watch as many Villa games as possible.

Prudence pays sometimes, unlike the freaking 12months I wasted scouting Moutinho.

All in all, hes never gonna really shine, but hes got lots of energy, not totally bad at the tackling, got a glint of snide in there as well, hasnt shown much, but I can see it, deep down, never hurts that stuff, sometimes can play some superb passes, but mostly just keeps it ticking over and aint a bad little player.

A steal for "free" IMO.
