Wasn't at all mad about cleverly but he is a blue now so will try to look at positives and support him ... Some good performances for villa and some goals so hopefully he can come to us and this will continue and that he will also improve some more given a run in the side ... Welcome to goodison Tom !

I would say the collective number of total posters on the forum who have watched Cleverley play 90 mins on over 5 occasions would be about 3 or 4.

He's been hiding away in the Manchester United and England teams.

I'm guessing you aren't one if you think he was excellent in Villa's last couple of Prem games.

Well To be honest I don't watch much of Utd or England.

I have watched an awfull lot of Villa this year for different reasons mind, his last five games were his better performances for my money.

Well if his best performances were in that 6 goal hammering against Southampton, the home defeat to Burnley and his no show in the cup final then I'm concerned.

I think you are sincerely overestimating this figure. 4 fold.
Tbh not really that hard - most people will have watched the two Villa games against us this season plus several the FA cup semi vs Liverpool and the FA cup final. So that is 4 and then add in them watching another couple of games such as the Fa cup match vs West Brom and say their match vs City (with Cleverley scoring) and you are over the trigger.

As I said last 5 PL games, I didn't see the cup final tbh, thought he played well vs Burnley in a bit of a dead rubber, the Southampton game well one of those freak days. I'd still take 3 goals in a last five PL games as a sample going on. TBF he was great when Villa neeðed results, well I was impressed anyway.

Results and players performances can be two different things.

Here's a lad who Manchester United picked at age 11, was touted as the replacement for Scholes, had the backing of SAF, through injury did not fulfill his early promise, and via Villa ends up at Everton age 25 on a free.

Why the angst? Give the lad a chance - as a Bosman we effectively have him on lease. Get behind him and support him.
