The match is now on demand if you have already subscribed and want to catch up?

Neat and tidy sums it up for me, kept the play moving with quick forward balls and he did some good tackles. But I've always been fairly pro Cleverley am unlikely to have seen his flaws tbh.

Don't think @orly was his biggest fan prior to his signing, might get a more balanced view from him.
Thanks! I will look into the friendly package (guffaw) when I can. In wont be able to watch all of them so might just buy the ones I can. And not sure about £4 for just today's highlights!

Glad he had a good game, hopefully he carries it on and through into the season. Great squad option

The Clev is going to surprise plenty on here. Impressed me today, he simply doesn't give the ball away and you can't underestimate that. Always gets his head up quickly, and get the feeling he's generally just a good togger player. We'd of absolutely creamed our keks if we'd signed this guy 10 years ago.

I thought he was pretty decent today, played a brilliant outside of the foot pass. Bearing in mind Swindon were really poor in the middle of the part, it was a first early showing of a promise, he looked in the right condition too. Fair play

Thanks Orly, one of his main weaknesses seems be confidence issues therefore I was so keen that he got a good debut that wasn't sure I was just seeing what I wanted to see :p

Early days though as you say.

Martinez has come out saying he expects cleverly to be hitting bout 10 goals nxt season, so maybe thats a sign that he wants clev playing the attacking midfield role, which means theres r number 10 role 4 the upcoming season!!

He'll probably be better than I'm expecting but he has 10 goals in his top flight career, a season of which was under Martinez. He did score 11 for a Watford team in the championship years ago but why would he expect him to all of a sudden become a goal scorer?

Good player, tidy in possession, will never be spectacular but I'd compare him to Gibson in what he can do on the ball in that he can keep a ball moving and find the odd good range pass - importantly, a pass forward.

....I've always thought he gets himself in great goal scoring positions but is a poor finisher (watch his early games for England). I mentioned a few days ago that all the players should have a goal scoring target, 10 is a reasonable objective for Cleverley and Barkley.
