When will ppl learn that playing for United and picked for a few England managers, DOES actually give a guide to a player actually having some talent.

Some really did believe he was crap and lucked his way into all them squads, and graduated through dozens and dozens of scouts and heads of academy years!!

i did keep my eye on him last season, what i noticed is he was very good at distribution from the midfield, medium to long balls into space. see he make runs down the wing. i think it was a shewd signing, will be a very good asset.

Well Phil Nev was brilliant for us for 3 or 4 seasons....he just got past it.

People like to rewrite history over him, be the same with Distin too. Served us well just stayed a bit too long but the managers fault not theirs.

So true, I hate Nev myself, but could see what he gave to us, certainly for those first 3 or 4 seasons.

3.5 million,he was worth it Neville IMHO,filled in effectively on numerous occasions both in central midfield and right back when required,certainly not flashy or a world beater but improved us as a team I thought.

Yeh it didn't work playing him out wide left today - he just dropped too deep. Looked better playing alongside McCarthy against Stoke.

I get what you mean about him being 'okay', but he'll be okay at doing all the things that do my head in about the way we play. Slow, careful passing that doesn't really get us anywhere.
