That's the problem. He can't say nothing. He gets asked questions in pressers and that's that.

Hate to say it Ijjy but our EX could talk to the press better. What RM has come out with could have been avoided and not put the players under a bit of pressure. Ought to take some tips from Jose!

True that. I can't be arsed listening to him these days. Just spouts boolarks.

But sometimes for good reason. Sometimes because he's a deluded mental case.

excpet managers have pressers every week so naturally they're going to be asked questions and he basically has "button it" as this is all he said in article:

One report recently claimed Cleverley has already decided on a move to Goodison but Martínez said: “No, that’s not true. Tom is a player I know really well. We know the positions that we need to strengthen in the summer. We’ve worked really hard since January to identify those targets but a lot of decisions will depend on how we perform in the last seven games. It’s going to be a very important end of season for us in order to allow us to make the right decisions for the summer.

“We have a group of players here who are focused on becoming successful with Everton so there are no problems keeping them. My focus is to make sure we bring in two or three players to step up a level and become stronger.”

he said pretty much what every manager says, we're focused on finishing the season than adding a few in the summer.

No he hasn't IMO.

A group of players????? that will have the players looking at each other, unnecessary comment. Wonder which players in his mind do not want to be successful with Eveton?

As for Cleverley could not very well confirm he is a player he wants that would amount to tapping up! Still think RM wants this Man U and Villa cast off, if he is not good enough for them then why should we want him even if he is on a free, will still want 50,000 + per week in wages.

Exactly.

Boss man is in control of the good ship Everton and skippering it into calm waters. Some of the deckhands might not like it but they can swing it.

he probably does but that's his prerogative as a manager. gibbo is a man u cast off and we rate him as long as he's healthy (on the rare occasion). Group of players = squad. he just was referring to the squad imo, and/or distin haha my main point is the fact that they have to have these pressers so obviously RM will make comments but we shouldnt take everything literally and as fact

Now then Dave, is "deckhands" a pseudonym for plotters? or are we talking of certain players?

I guarantee the "group" of players who want to be successful at everton include Kone, Alcaraz, Naismith and Howard. in other word's he's gonna bring in more of his Wigan carts who can play his tippy tappy crap even though his previous club went down With said players.

Hes a busted flush, he has potential as a good manager but let's himself down with his blinkered view on how to play the game. He's like an addict who you really want to sort themselves out, they get off the stuff and go straight for a few months before relapsing and it's the same with this guy. A few good results and you get your hopes up before he reverts to type

Then he should shut up. Fans listen to the manager so he should be careful in what he says to the press or are you saying it is okay to lead the fans on?

ok mate so what should he say in pressers? "no comment" a million times. How is he leading anyone with the quote I posted above??

I didn't know naismith and howard played for wigan. also only alcaraz in that group is meant for "tippy tappy" as you would say. also wigan are about to get relegated to League one in their 2nd year out of the prem, i'm sure thats somehow Martinez's fault even though he kept them up for a while and won a cup

article by andy hunter. being an american i have no idea if that makes it more or less reliable hah

Being ignorant and forgetfull, I'm in the same boat as you mate. Think he may be a blue but I have a vague memory of him doing articles on both us and the rs.
From what I've understood about Hunter he covers all of Merseyside, much in the same way Jamie Jackson does for Manchester, etc.
