Or some fella who once his contract is up will be out the region as quick as possible not known who everton were before they came to this country and is probably only at everton because of the fat wedge they offered

Exactly my point
 
I see the captaincy given to Tom Davies as an act of the confidence Marco Silva has in the young players at Everton & in Tom Davies we have a midfield player who can progress to the very top, I have already seen the lad mature during the games he has been captain with less rash challenges & taking on more responsibility for the team.

It is essential that our young players are encouraged & supported through the good times & the bad to allow them to progress to their maximum ability at Everton football club.

Marco is already showing faith with our young players by giving them the chance to perform in the first team, Kenny,Davies,Keane Calvert Lewin in particular where they can be inspired to play to potential & beyond & I see the captaincy given to Davies as an extension of this empowerment...

Believe & support our young players...
Then they can believe in themselves...

He's 4th choice with the armband for christ sake. And now your setting the benchmark as he has to be as good a leader as labone or ratcliffe after captaining the side for 3 games.

We have won 2 of those games and played really well vrs arsenal so its clearly not disafecting the players.

And fwiw ive seen him show plenty of signs of good leadership in those games. So as 4th choice captain. He is fine

You can observe quite often how teammates prefer other options, more difficult passes rather than passing to uncovered Davies in front of them as he won't be able to do anything productive with it. There are moments in game where he has less touches than everybody on the pitch besides goalkeepers and centre halves. He offers nothing and he is definitely not a one who won us these games.

You are, however, comparing him against players who have a sole job.

Gana main job is to stop attacks and therefore make losts of challenges.

We have Richarlison, Sigurdsson & Walcottt to create chances, this is their main job.

The problem is that he doing a bit of a jack of all trades job a t the moment so people are saying 'he doesn't create' or 'he doesn't tackle' because they are comparing to other players.

I see a player in him and once he really starts to settle then we will see more creating and/or more tackles on a more consistent basis.

He had a bit of an anonymous first half but then again so did a few players. As a team we improved massively in the 2nd and the quality from those players (including Davies) started to show.
