@GwladysBlue , since he constantly misplaces passes, here are his distribution stats for Leicester

Total passes - 41

Pass completion rate - 78%

Total passes in the opposition half - 26

Completion rate in the opposition half - 80.8%

***

A bit of comparison with our other midfielders

Bernard
Total passes - 43
Pass completion rate - 72.1%
Total passes in the opposition half - 32
Completion rate in the opposition half - 78.1%

Gylfi
Total passes - 26
Pass completion rate - 77.3%
Total passes in the opposition half - 18
Completion rate in the opposition half - 72.2%

Gueye
Total passes - 54
Pass completion rate - 85.2%
Total passes in the opposition half - 25
Completion rate in the opposition half - 84%
Leicester was probably his best game of the season. I’d be interested to see the others.

The only opinion that matters about Davies is that of our Manager. He decides every week that Davies is the right player for us - our job as supporters is to try and support the players chosen.

Sure, some players are not as good as we would wish, but there is not one player in that team that does not have some weakness. Of course we have the right to expect perfection, but we are a work in progress and we should always try and support what we have, in spite of their weaknesses.

That terrible passer of the ball Gueye making the most passes and with the highest success rate. Again.

People banging on about this pass that “nearly” led to chilwell scoring. Why focus on the fact that someone “nearly” scored. The goal didn’t happen, fortget it. Everyone praising Bernard but it was his pas that actually led to their goal. Every player on that pitch made poor passes at some point, let’s support the lad. He did his role well on Saturday and had a good game.
Well I’d worry if our coaching team don’t look at the moments we nearly give away goals to determine weak areas in our game.

It’s an entirely valid criticism. I support Davies and love to see him playing well (thought he stood his own against a strong Leicester midfield) but I also wouldn’t ignore a moment in the match where we nearly needlessly threw the game away. As much as I enjoyed the team performance there’s still areas where we need to improve.

Have you ever been to a pub after an Everton game, sat on a table and then the group sitting next to your group on that table over hear and then join in the conversation with their opinion? I’m guessing not. Either that, or you arent going to Everton games and picking up on what fans, outside a hardened few on here, are saying about Tom Davies.

I’d guarantee that if you polled Evertonians on who should be dropped from the Xl, Davies would top the list. He’s crap. Maybe he can improve in the future, but tha certainly shouldn’t be on a supposedly ambitious Premier League club’s time.

The manager sees something in him, he's only 20 and will grow into a good player. Statistically we get better results when he's in the team. He makes mistakes because he takes some risks trying to move the play forward. He's frustrating to watch at times, but we need to stick by him.

Okay, here they are for all of PL games he has played in this season (I've added the team rank for our side into the brackets so it can show how he compared to others)

So, looking at that, in terms of his passing accuracy, his worst game was Bournemouth, with Arsenal after that. The rest, he's been pretty high up with his accuracy and amount of passes compared to the rest of the team.

Pretty much the same for every game, including passes in the opposition half (he and Gylfi often top that).

What I would say is Gueye's passes are usually short and sharp and I personally think that's fine. It's when we're asking him to play the cutting, incisive throughballs that the issues start to appear.

Interesting, but then you’d expect your central midfielder to pass the ball. Them stats don’t say how he puts the team under pressure continually by firing the ball to a player with two men around him.

P, please confirm, Tom Davies is better than League One standard?
