Championship quality at best. We need to be looking at MUCH more talented players donning the blue shirt alongside Gomes, Gana, Siggy etc. Davies wouldn't even get a subs place in the top 6 sides in the Premier League. If we want to even consider competing with those sides, we can not have players like Davies. Sad, true and harsh, as he is a likeable lad I'm sure, but he is just not good enough. Sorry if this post offends anyone.
 

I like Davies but think he could do with a loan so he can get some proper game time. McCarthy and Baningime would be my back ups and I can't see Schneiderlin going anywhere until the summer. The other option us to play him in the u23 but I think that may be counter productive as it would feel like a backward step. If he gets 6 months in the Championship where I believe he will stand out he could come back pushing for a 1st team place. Fans of the loan club would be far more appreciative of him and he might not feel so hurried and learn a bit more on his decision making.

Send out Davies on loan leaving Mr Sick Bed & Mr Probably Needs A Loan More Than Davies as reserve midfielders.

Sound logic.

In a few weeks he may well be a sub player in a top 6 side.....
 
Keep Davies. Injuries and suspensions are a thing and the lad needs a bit of a rest anyway, he's played so much over the last couple seasons.

I like him. Brings tenacity to the side.

Even with limited game time, it's pretty obvious that Gomes is a vastly superior midfielder than Gana. Gana is great at what he does, but Gomes has a different level of quality and class.

Davies is a decent option from the bench. Between him and Schneiderlin, there isn't much to choose - Davies has more energy, but Schneiderlin has more composure. Neither give a great deal of quality, although obviously Davies wins the duel on age/attitude.

Still, I can't see him getting his name on the team sheet as long as Gomes and Gana stay fit.
