He's just come back from injury - he assisted a goal v us 5 minutes after coming on two weeks ago .......
he never got a chance here just like others.....

He got two chances here. Dont think anyone really doubts his talent but his decision making and the fact he has the lungs of a 50 year old smoker put people óff.

Just watched highlights of the 4-0 City game. He had a real spring in his step. Doesn't seem you have that at the moment.

If he wants an example of someone at a young age doing exactly what he should - playing with raw energy - look at that Guendouzi or whatever he's called at Arsenal. Makes loads of errors as someone his age should but there's a real bounce to his play.

I don't think he recovered after Koeman had him all over the shop in different positions before he got sacked and the confidence had completely drained from him. Like you said, he's missing that spring in his step/tempo to his game which made him look like he could be a midfielder with a goal threat.

Koeman? Gave him more chances than.he deserved. Better managers have sussed him out

Scouser though.
Even as a person who was born and bred in Liverpool, it makes me cringe how some people use this to negate a player's obvious flaws or deficiencies.

"But Tom's a scouser laaaaaa" So what? Yes it may add some extra loyalty and determination, but ultimately we should judge a player on their playing merits.

If they're not good enough, they're not good enough; if they're good enough AND they're a scouser, then that's brilliant but the latter shouldn't diminish the former.

It was the same with Barkley and if we really want to win things then we need to be more clinical, if not ruthless. I'm not implying any of the above to you by the way.

If you watch the 5th goal yesterday, it's typical Davies - under no pressure, plays the ball backwards, runs into right back position. He's not even created space as he's drawn no one with him.

A player with absolutely no positive traits.

There’s some real nonsense in this thread. There is a comfortable place to occupy between “he should be performing to a high level every week” and “he is only 20”.

Is he the guy with the big Fellani style hair?

Tom got us up and running performance wise in Koemans first season, brought a bit ut of energy and enthusiasm to the middle of the park. 2nd season he struggled big time, I remember a Europa League game Koeman had him Centre mid, right bsck, moved to right mid and then right back again. Kid didn't know if he was coming or going.

Don't worry though Orly, I send our Tom positive thoughts on an hourly basis confirming he will become the greatest midfielder of our generation so he's in safe hands with me as his guru
