He's played 65 league games for us over 4 seasons mate. Fans are entitled to make the point if they don't think he is the required standard.

No problem with that but he hadn't started for 9 games before yesterday so it has to be taken in to account, especially with a young player. The same happened to Vlasic last season and even Lookman. It's not easy to come back in to the side and get back up to speed after such a long time out. Coming up against the quality of Spurs is a big challenge too.

I don't think he's good enough at the moment either, could do with going out on loan, but just think him not starting for 9 games was always going to make it even more difficult for him.

Doing great at Watford who are 8th in the table had a blinder v West ham away better winger than walcott..........
Has had 2 good games, watch him disappear for the next 10 like he did so many times for us. Also he has exactly the same goals and assists as Walcott for this season.

He's just come back from injury - he assisted a goal v us 5 minutes after coming on two weeks ago .......
he never got a chance here just like others.....

You can see more clearly `live' compared to on TV that he is nowhere near and probably wont ever
get to the physical specimen required at top half premier league level.

Gomez physicality is similarly deeply floored. He is slow and immobile, doesn't/cant track runners etc. But he has chance of making it at the elite level
because of his outstanding touch and range of passing.

Davies, like DCL should be 4/5th choice in his position at a club like ours that has spent £400 mill the last couple of years.

He should have a decent career at championship level if he improves his strength/stamina and game IQ.

Lol.

That`s the one and only time he`ll ever be called a luxury player mate.

A luxury player is someone like Ginola, bags of skill, vision, scores worldess, but a bit of tart on the pitch.

Davies is only one of those things.

I`ll let you make your own mind up which one he is.
Ha well yes, I meant in the sense that he can't play in a two he has to play in a flat three to do anything effective. He can't shield the back four or do the box to box role. So that leaves him as someone who gets forward picks the odd pass and runs around a bit, he's not even effective at these things looking at his stats, so yes he's a luxury in that he's average and a bit of a passenger at times. Sure he's still young but you would have expected to see more by now, he's that llimited at times that you can't afford this kind of player in this league. But aye he ain't no Gazza or Hazard. I will make a bet now I don't think he's ever going to be any more than a lower Prem/championship midfielder and that hurts to say because he's one of us and its nice to have a bit of that in the team/squad.

That's the thing Eggs, age shouldn't matter with Davies now, he's played 65 prem games, and been round the first team for a few seasons, yet I'm still scratching my head as to what type of player he is.

On the age thing as well, we have lads saying Pickford is still a young lad and will learn by his mistakes, he's 24 FFS!

Had the same things said about Barkley fur 6-7 years, weird when a players 24-25 and been playing 6 years or more and people still talk about his potential etc.

I actually had hopes for the lad, but he's going to really struggle for a spot now, and will likely fall out of the reckoning completely.

His problem is he does a lot of things decent, but nothing above that level, throw in physically he's neither fast or powerful, and it's hard to see him developing suddenly into being good enough for a top half side as a starter.

Kind of another ebrell
