Our much lauded u23 team hasn’t produced many first team players to be honest.
Need a total revamp there , let’s hope Brands can sort it.

If Tom Davies was not a Scouser he'd be getting hounded out of the club by the fans. He's surely one of the worst central midfield players in the country. He wouldn't even stand out in League Two imo, so God only knows how he is blagging a career with Everton. Is this all based on his goal against City two years ago? Abysmal!

...his age doesn’t matter, nor does the fact that he’s a local lad. He’s a first team footballer and has to be judged on performance. I’m afraid he’s not offering much to the team in recent times.

That's the thing Eggs, age shouldn't matter with Davies now, he's played 65 prem games, and been round the first team for a few seasons, yet I'm still scratching my head as to what type of player he is.

On the age thing as well, we have lads saying Pickford is still a young lad and will learn by his mistakes, he's 24 FFS!

I agree the step up is a big one and not a lot succeed.
But Unsworth’s success rate has been abysmal thus far and while winning leagues is nice ,the main function of the U23 team should be to produce players able to at least strengthen the first team squad. In this context he has palpably failed.

The worst thing is we have got these younger lads in and around the first team as squad players when they are obviously nowhere near good enough. If they weren't from the academy they would never have been signed.

He's played 65 league games for us over 4 seasons mate. Fans are entitled to make the point if they don't think he is the required standard.

He's started multiple games this season, and was crap then too

He's a luxury player not a box to box or a defensive midfielder. Yet he's not productive enough to be a number ten. He isn't good enough to be a first team player currently and I am starting to wonder if he will ever be.

He`s not a scouser, he`s a WOOL mate, he`s from Chorley and you don`t get much more WOOL than that.

A luxury player is someone like Ginola, bags of skill, vision, scores worldess, but a bit of tart on the pitch.

Davies is only one of those things.
