2020/21 Tom Davies

He's really tried in the last couple of games, but it is evident that he offers very little in terms of creativity or goals from midfield.

Tom's first instinct is to always go sideways or backwards.

He's a boring, average player, and won't get near our starting 11, when all are fit.
His job is more of a defensive midfielder, he always offers a pass when the defence have the ball and gets stuck in, he ain’t going to set the world alight

He is Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Brighton quality.

Yes he can compete in the league, but he will never, ever, turn us into a permanent European side.

And for that reason alone, I'd be happy to move him on at the earliest convenience.

We don't have the time to carry passengers who can put in a 5/10 shift every now and then.
Sadly he gets nowhere near the palace or West Ham midfields which says it all

Absolutely should not be sold in the January window. He gets in our strongest first 11 until Allan is fit.

And if that is the case, and we don't get another body in during the January window, then we don't have the quality to finish in the Top 6.

He is a ripping bloke and he tries, but he is not a player, starter or depth, that will ever allow us to achieve European qualification.

What an ironic quandry. No team that finds itself needing Tom Davies can afford to sell Tom Davies. Evaluations of him, positive and negative, are the definition of confirmation bias.

I'm Team Tom simply because his dress sense seems to infuriate people who've spent the last 5 years taking style tips from Peaky Blinders. The sort of horrors who have their side parting shaved in.

When a player is at the correct level you remember his stinkers and when a player is not up to the level you remember his good games. For me Davies had good games against Man City and Sheff utd a good few meh games and the rest stinkers

If we play him on Saturday he is cup tied, that might knock a few million of his value for the end of the window panic buyers
Tom Davies is part of the core of players that are not for sale.
The squad that we have of players the manager wants to keep is not that big and we have seen with injuries how easily that squad can be stretched.

I think we would listen to offers for Kenny, Delph, Bolasie, Besic, Tosun, Kean but I doubt we are open to selling anybody else unless silly money is offered.
