There have been Everton players who I have wished were better than they actually were. Naismith was one, he seemed to be a throughly decent man and I wanted a person of his personal values to play for Everton. Unfortunately he just didn’t have the quality to preform week in week out. I would like Davies to be able to play in midfield and spray passes about, to get stuck in and win tackles and to break up moves but unfortunately he lacks the ability to preform at a level consistently.

Squad player. 3rd choice centre mid. Happy with that. Clubs need players who fit into that category. As for starting against any team in the top half of premier. No. Not good enough. Clearly round cup games against lower league he starts for me.

He doesnt excell in any aspect of football.

He's done fine lately. IMO, they should focus strongly on developing him as a defensive midfielder. He's lacked identity as a player since breaking through. He could be a useful squad player if he continues to learn from Allan.

Deffo, played under a lot of poor managers who haven’t gave him a role to develop in. Defensive mid will do him good. Carlo will hopefully help the lad progress his game too. I’m sure some people will expect a defensive mid to bag 10 goals and 10 assists a season though lol

In the this new era of football full backs are probably the most creative players on the pitch these days, look at digne we and Dom miss him loads as we have very little without him. Toms defensive mid role isn’t a role which see him getting 10+ assists

That wasn’t my point but I agree, Tom won’t get 10 assists in his whole career.

Ya he can improve but has not improved in any respect not even physically since his first game. He has the odd decent game but has zero consistency. Has he got any major strength to his game? Again I'm happy to have him as a squad player.
