Think I’ve come to the conclusion I don’t like him playing this role in front of the back 4, I think he’s better playing a bit further forward / box2box but it seems Carlo prefers others doing that job (like Gomes)
apart from losing possession for the goal (not that passing to him there was the greatest idea) I felt he didn’t move into space to offer for the ball enough when we were playing out. Seemed to me there were a few times he was kind of ball watching as we came out from defence rather move up the field into the gaps opening up in the midfield.
Tbf he might he might have been under orders to only operate in certain areas and it was for others to drop back for the ball, but the fact he got hooked suggests he wasn’t doing the job asked of him well enough.
he certainly showed what he’s capable of further forward with the assist and lovely pass to DCL were he was unable to control it.

I've changed my mind about him since the start of the season and won't be changing it back. He has a pivotal role to play leading up to the seasons end.

superb assist and almost another superb assist but dom couldnt sort his feet out, very unlucky not to get a foul for the first goal build up, some of you slating him really are sad

Maybe I need to put myself through the pain of rewatching the game. Seemed to think he was the deepest MF at the beginning of the game at least.

Nah he wasn’t and that’s why he didn’t play as good.

He’s badly average and was part of a midfield that didn’t have a grip against Ashley Westwood and Josh Brownhill.

What other team does he start for in the Prem? None in the top ten for sure.

Not his biggest fan but has shown some improvement this season. For me he could be a good squad player. if he is a regular starter we are a mid table team. But he has qualities and shows heart. Git bullied off the ball yesterday for their first goal but I felt keane should not have passed it to him. It needed an excellent touch which he doesn't have. Still suprised he was taken off. Thought he was trying to drive us forward.

Haven’t got the full game on demand yet (prob a blessing) but the all the ‘high’lights show him in a deeper position, granted not at the base of a diamond or whatever that position should be called.
Often him and Allan both seem be sitting deep and interchanging, albeit Allan seems to venture forward more than Tom.
Need to see the full match again really as I think his position also changed a bit when Iwobi moved out wide too around the 2nd goal.
Regardless I personally still think he better a bit further forward.

I mean firstly the majority of your pics have another midfielder deeper than him lol but we never said he didn't play deep he just didn't play that pivot role that's been so successful lately.
