Best of a bad bunch.
Davies gomes and iwobi dont scare anyone.

If they are the best what are worst of the bad bunch like and who are they?

However I am with you on those names they should be given the boot but why does Carlo keep picking them? Why can't he give a young player a chance now and then?

Add to those 3 Siggy and King.

Has nobody else to pick. Our midfield scares nobody. All to alike. No pace. No width.
Id keep davies allan and doucoure. But bring in some much needed ability on the ball.

One of our best if not our best midfielder in 2021... Bosses it against Man U, Liverpool... and still there are posts like this. Does my head in. Some just have it in for the lad.
He didn’t really ‘boss’ the game in either did he. We had about 30% possession in both.

If we want to be higher in the table, then we need better players than Tom Davies. That’s just not even a debate tbh.

I know that he's a 'young' lad and 'came up through the ranks' but we shouldn't let these facts (or wishful thinking) blind us to the facts - he's slow, weak in the tackle, poor at shielding the ball/keeping possession, not a creative midfielder, not a goal scoring midfielder, not dominant in the air. In short - he's rubbish. Get rid!

Really none of that is true.
Certainly he isn't the finished article , has made mistakes and at 22 is bound to make more.
In the last few weeks he has been arguably our best midfielder and even against Burnley in my opinion played well.
He set up one goal and a sublime pass nearly set up a second for DCL. If JR had made that pass to DCL we would have been talking about it for weeks.
The pass from Michael Keane was at fault for the first Burnley goal and Allan got beaten too easily for the second.

And this is the thing. The first post is slightly overboard. And you passing blame for the first goal onto somebody else. Is exactly the same.

It’s embarrassing, you can criticise the lad. IMO he was totally at fault for the first goal. Whether it was a poor ball from Keane. His touch was poor and has to make a better decision.
Get rid of it straight away. I’ve seen a lot of sitting midfielders recently who take risks as the last man, some of the better ones can handle being but under pressure physically or turn away from trouble.

I’ve seen Tom turn away from trouble, but a lot of the time. He seems to gets bullied, where he ends up falling to the ground and usually fouling the player in the process.

He’s done much better recently and has had 6/7 good games. But he needs another 30/40 before we can’t start taking him seriously.

The only problem for him, is I see ancelotti buying another midfielder in the summer. And if we don’t get an injury crisis next season, he won’t play many games.

Is he on the biffta's? Are there any Koppite U21's he is close to? He should speak to 1 about getting on Klopp's supplement plan.

For anyone who thinks I want him to improve and play for Everton permanently I don't, He is utter UTTER garbage so you can stop reading right now.
Anyone left... I've always thought it was fairly obvious he is a better footballer with the ball at his feet that he is chasing it. Like most of our "fit" midfielders Rodriguez, Gomes, Iwobi and Gylfi son if Siggurd the useless!?
The assist in this "extended lowlights" (queued up at 4:52) was perfect and if the rest of the team could provide 3 or 4 a game for DCL and Richy we wouldn't be the lowest scorers in the top 8 and have the worst GD by almost double digits in the top 6!
For some reason the inch perfect ball over the top from half-way (which doesn't feature in this video??? and I didn't see a replay of.) that there are possibly a handful of strikers that could bury and not a lot more who could play* but unluckily for Dom it hit his standing leg instead of dropping nicely which he would have then gone on to shank but that is a different story/thread.
In summing up; he is gradually improving, much like DCL and others, slower than we would like, but everyday in training he should be learning and there are some at Finch Farm currently that he couldn't wish for better to do that from. Just Imagine some of the things *Hamez does on the sly or when he's taking the Mick? Tom just needs More Time and possibly some support might help, but I am not a sports psychologist.

Amazed he is picked for England U23. Maybe somebody else can drag better out of him. Good luck to him, it might boost his self confidence.
