Yeah he played well, yeah it good to see him at his best, but that’s the easiest midfield in the league to play against and is probably not even PL quality.

This run of games can’t paper over the holes in the squad. Wednesday night highlighted them. We still need a lot more pace and power in the midfield to beat top sides consistently home and away.

Thought he was allowed some space by the opposition yes, but he was also constantly looking to make himself available to take the ball from the back four. He loses possession here and there (and it’s much easier to forgive when we win) but I’d much rather that than a player that actively hides meaning we have no option but to bypass the midfield.
Agree 100 %. Normally he constantly gives the ball away (as do too many others) inviting pressure on to the back four. If he eliminates that he has a future as a decent Alan Harper style squad player.

He will do whatever the manager asks him to do. He's a very limited player and constantly loses the ball against quick opposition, but didn't have that issue last night. His best game for ages.

Should he still be sold for 12m ?

It shows how little some understand about football or how blinded by dislike when it comes to assessing a player.

Last night was a more mature performance from Davies than you would expect from a player of his age.

He will have more good and not so good days as young players do . But, last night showed what kind of player he can develop into.

Really pleased about Tom’s recent upturn in form, which is why I was one of the eager 248 voters. Credit where it’s due. His composure and maturity of play yet again was a sight to behold, and I was somewhat disappointed by his substitution.

As I’ve posted before, I’d like to see him in the mix with Doucoure and Allan on his eagerly awaited return, both of whom would not only afford him the protection I feel he still requires, but provide welcome options when pressed (on one or two occasions, he did the same step over the ball and change direction with aplomb when options were scant, but against higher tempo, hard pressing sides like Liverpool he’ll no doubt lose out).

Hence, I’ve no wish to see him in the same side as Gomes, who on recent form, has taken to being selective about his availability to accept a pass.

Still, two very good performances under his belt.

He's worth a bit more than 12m tbh. He's still very young but has plenty of experience in the top flight. 20m is the going rate the these days for a player like that.

I'd rather not sell him though. No he's never going to become a world beater, but he's a decent option in the squad and can fill in various midfield roles.

He gets the ball and tries to get us moving forward. It doesn't always come off because he lacks quality, but I'd rather see people trying to do the right things.

Thought he had another good game really. He didn’t have much to work with as thought our movement wasn’t all that great, nobody really showing for the ball or making runs other than DCL.

He’s doing everything the manager is asking of him. He isn’t hiding out the way and is taking his opportunity.

He's still 22, began his everton career under chaos management and playing in a position usually staffed by players approaching the age of 30.

The game suited him - he had time on the ball to pick his head up and keep us ticking over and put in a few good tackles. He used his body to shield the ball as well which is something he seems to have addd to his game. Well played.

“Shows how little some understand about football”

His first decent game in yonks against possibly the worst midfield to ever play in the premier league.

He did well last night but some people are getting carried away.
