“Shows how little some understand about football”

His first decent game in yonks against possibly the worst midfield to ever play in the premier league.

He did well last night but some people are getting carried away.

Thats just lies though, he's played well in all his recent appearances

Good game Tom run the midfield first half...

Important squad player & incredibly versatile so valuable to the team...

More to come from him hopefully....

Eating my hat here, he played really well before he came off. If that could only continue, who knows? Problem is he has disappointed for most of his time so far.

Enjoyed him last night. Really good game intelligence and use of the ball. Tried to be really positive and always showed for the ball.

Well in Tom. There's a good squad player in there

The thing I loved about yesterday’s performance was he was always taking the ball on the turn so he was looking forward. Too many of our midfielders take the ball facing their own goal and just pass it back to our cbs

Yes you are correct Tom did great yesterday on the turn ...

DCL needs to develop this skill to when he receives the ball on the 18yd box turn & shoot, not always lay it off back to where it came from...

He's played well most games this season when he's been on. I think of Brighton at home where he was very good.

What you begin to notice with him, is the benefit of working with a top manager like Ancelotti. He's taken him out of the team when he was inconsistent, so he doesn't further erode his confidence. Hes also simplified the game for him. He was always a lad with talent, but was trying to do too many things too quickly. Yesterday he just simplified the game, passed and moved the ball. "Had a look at the game" as Sounness would say. It became easier for him.

For a 22 year old, to play with tha maturity and dictate the play in 2nd gear is some going. You kind of hope the penny has dropped with him a bit. He must take enormous confidence from that display last night.

He’s been average, which for Tom is higher than his normal performance standard, but it certainly doesn’t warrant the over reaction.

Gylfi has been better than him but still gets slated due to him not performing well. It’s almost like fans of Davies the want to believe he is better than he is, in order for them to say they were right about him from the start, rather than just admitting he is doing an alright job but if he plays more games than he doesn’t then we will struggle to remain where we are in the league.

We're where we are in the league in part cos squad players like Davies have stepped up and filled in when required.
It's almost like haters of Davies won't admit he's not as bad as they think in order for them to say they were right about him from the start.
There's generally a correlation between Davies haters and DCL haters and there's no way they're goin to admit to being clueless twice in such a short space of time.
