The crowd want nothing more than Barkley to do well. The frustration comes from all that talent being wasted when he's swanning around. Last few games though there's barely been a word against him because Koeman has him working and back in form and what a player he is.

Barkley was never given grief when he was an inexperienced youngster, although I agree with you that that's what people mean by it.

Well there is he's 18 and he's has a couple of starts in the league. I thought he was fantastic yesterday but he is a kid and is going to have ups and downs

He's paid a pretty tidy sum to play football so he needs to perform. If he doesn't perform to the standard required then he's out.

Let's not get carried away - we have been here many times before, and for every Rooney there has been a Cadamateri, Jeffers, Grant, Rodwell etc.
