Difference between him and Ross, he gets his head up before he passes in the final 3rd.

Ross has stepped it up the last few games but Davies is showing a level of composure and eye for a pass that not many at the same age have rivalled over the years.

Very similar to Fabregas when he made the breakthrough at 16, they both play years beyond there actual age, we're on to a winner here if he has half the success he's had.

Don't think today was the best game he'll ever have but he set up the goal and kept a clean sheet so can't moan. Is right Tom la.

There's no doubt if Evertonianism was a thing, it would reflect the very puritanical catholic (i know the contradiction) origins of the club and the City it exists in. You see that reflected through Unsworth, Royle before him, to an extent from Moyes.

It would be interesting to know where it started. Alex Young never chased around but was known to be quite a fay, languid but brilliant footballer. Maybe when Royle booted out flair players and brought in big physical lads who wanted to tackle and harry?

Either way that isn't Dowell's game and will never be his strength. Unsworth has said they are working hard to get him to do that side of the game. In a way it's a good thing, as it will mean he's more rounded as a player and likely to get game time. However I can't help but thinking at other clubs they would get them to work at their strengths a bit more.

This isn't attack on the youth staff at Everton, who as I've said are the best in the country for me. But we do produce a certain type of player. Hard working, honest, grafters. They are all taught humility and respect. I like this, I'd hate us to have a Sterling come through. Sometimes though you need a flexibility and Dowell is an example of this. His strength will be doing the things most others can't. We'll see.
Dowell in my opinion has got what it takes to make it at the top level and Joe Royle thinks he's good enough to play for England. I feel that he should have had some time on the bench this season and come on for 20, 30 minutes. Koeman I feel has wasted time with players like Lennon, Cleverley, Kone and Valencia. I'd rather he'd given some time to Dowell who could have been coming on for Barkley in quite a few games. If he's not going to get any time in second half of the season then we really need to get him on loan.

You win nothing with kids ............
Actually I suspect RK was looking for some stability with the team by playing the "older" pros in the hope they could adapt to his style but when it was proved that they are inept, he was "forced" to play the kids and now we can all see the benefits.
