No doubt, thought he looked more comfortable and more technical than Davies. He'll get his chance once his form picks up, he'll be looking to holgate and Davies and be aware that the chances are there

I just wonder how much he'll have to adapt his game to make that happen. Nothing wrong with adding to it, but sometimes that can curb taking the chance to be creative.

Don't agree with loans for loans sake. Or too many either. But I do think that exposing youngsters to open age football whilst still in their teens is an important part of their development. Some of our best youngsters in recent years, Stones, Holgate, Galloway and, more recently, Lookman and DCL, came from lower leagues where they played first team football at an early age.

I'm pretty sure Dowell would have gone out last season had he not had that bad injury so I think a loan to the right club will help him now. Don't think he's quite ready for the first team yet for the reason mentioned in my previous post.
Fair enough. I do think that the Championship now is a very high standard with a lot of "PL" teams in all but name, so going on loan to say a Derby or wherever wouldn't be a major step down. Problem is (as seen with Galloway) they're not exactly guaranteed a start.

I think the style is one forged by adapting to the opposition's strengths from game to game rather than us having a clear identity. That;s unsustainable as far as I'm concerned.
While I agree that we don't have a clear identity yet, I am glad that Koeman has at least shown that he is flexible in his tactics. We need to form something cohesive, but at least he is capable of making in game adjustments.

He's good mates with Davies and apparently watched last weeks match alongside Tom's family. Just hope he adopts the right attitude and uses this as an incentive to replicate what Davies has done, rather than sulk about being overlooked. There have been whispers of him doing the latter earlier in the season.

That's why picking the right club is essential. Pulis was the completely wrong manager to send a young player to, as was McCarthy at Ipswich where we sent Conor Grant.
