couldve saved martinezs job if he'd the balls the play younger players instead of the tried and tested shyte

Let's not get too carried away mate. In all seriousness he really did look good today, but let's not look far beyond that. Fact is, it was an already relegated Norwich playing out the string we were up against.

i only mean if he had of give these lads a chance we might have been more patient with him, maybe seen him building something to look forward to. as it was sticking with crap like osman, cleverly etc was pointless and we could all see it.

Everton youngster Tom Davies was in fine form as his side beat Norwich City this weekend.

In an end of season clash that meant nothing for either side, David Unsworth elected to hand young duo Tom Davies and Kieran Dowell their debuts for Everton.

They impressed as well as the Blues ran out comfortable 3-0 winners courtesy of goals from James McCarthy, Leighton Baines and Kevin Mirallas.

Davies was key to the win, as he put in an all action performance in midfield to leave many anticipating he could be the next young star to emerge at the club.

As the stats provided by Opta show, he was heavily involved throughout.

He managed 52 touches in total, the third most of any Everton player in the game, with just four of those proving unsuccessful.

His passing was particularly impressive as he managed 28 accurate passes, 11 of which were in the final third, and enjoyed an overall pass success rate of 80%.

Defensively he was also solid, winning one tackle, four interceptions and four defensive duels in total in a display that will have impressed many at Everton.

I see...soz, misunderstood your post.

Perhaps you are right. I doubt it though if the results remained the same. That derby was the nail in the coffin I reckon.

For those who have seen a bit more of the youth, how does he compare to Ledson?

.......the only addition I would add to @catcherintherye is Ledson stood out as a natural leader at youth level, he looked a professional and you could see his team mates looking up to him. Davies has been a captain too but the leadership aspect of Ledson's game was a key factor and might be a reason why he hasn't yet made the same impact playing with established professionals.

I only caught the second half but the three young lads looked very good.

Dowell and Davies linked up well.

I hope whoever comes in will give them a chance. I hope they are in the first team for good now.

Has been out on loan in League 2 at Cambridge United, was playing some quite good football from all reports. The fans have absolutely loved him there.
That's really good to hear.
