He's got a small frame, and he lacks pace and power, I don't think they're down to age TBH. Don't get me wrong. I think he'll turn out to be a useful squad player for us, but those who are claiming him to be the 2nd coming of jesus right now I think will be disappointed and calling for him to be sold once he hits his 20s.

Mate... he's the first coming of tom Davies

Haven't watched football long but is this just an English football thing?

Pretty much mate. In England you're either world class, complete crap or the next big thing.

I don't think anybody is seriously saying Tom Davies is going to be a world class footballer right now though based off what we've seen so far. What we should all be seeing is a young local lad who clearly loves playing football for Everton and can already cut it in the premier league as a teenager. He has decent skills, passing, shooting, puts himself about and fears nobody. He also seems bright, hardworking and understands the game which gives him a lot more room to grow as a player and get better and better rather than some youngsters who come through and are technically gifted but don't have a footballing brain.

Hmm...who could that be?

I didn't wanna turn it into another Ross thread but my thinking is there are two types of top quality players.

The ones like Ronaldinho who are just effortlessly skilful and we all know Tom will not be but then you also have lads like Bale or Lampard or even Ronaldo who worked their socks off and trained hard every single day to develop their skills that they weren't naturally blessed with and Tom certainly seems to be hard working and dedicated to pushing himself to the next level whilst also remaining grounded and down to earth and at his age that's a huge plus!

Met him a few times, he's actually got a good frame on him.

Not that it matters. Kante is 5"6 and 10.5 stone.

They both play centre midfield in the premier league.

Alan Ball was also 5'6 and under 11 stone.

What you are saying is largely drivel though. He doesn't lack physical attributes, but they are a bonus. His attitude, application and intelligence will be the key to his success.
Attitude and application, which goes back to my point about the comparison between him and Phil Neville.

I didn't see that post, but it sounds like more nonsense.

Personally think Phil has a low level of intelligence and had a terrible attitude (always going on about money and claiming 10th was a good position for Everton). Regardless, they're too different to make that a relevant argument.

Let's hope that substitution doesn't knock his confidence.

If he was dragging anyone off it should have been one of the planks who won't be here next season.

I'm surprised he didn't repeat the trick he did the other week - Holgate off, Davies to right back.
