Tom Davies

Very strange decision. Davies was poor 1st 25 mins, poor positioning and such but was still combative and trying to get in the game.
Anyone hazard a guess what the thinking was to swap him with Ross right after they go a man down?

I think he was so poor and Ross offers much more going forward and chances were going to come. Love Tom but really was a dreadful first 25 for him

He was not playing well and was not sharp enough for that Lukaku cross which was a fairly good half-chance. Also caught out a couple of times in midfield.

Not happy that he was replaced by a bloke who is not very good and who wants to leave the Company.

Asked why he had started Tom Davies and then replaced him during the first-half with Barkley, Koeman said:

“Tactical change because 11 against ten is a different game. He [Davies] lost many ball in 20 minutes. He lost more balls than the last two weeks.”

To be fair he was poor. No problem with that&, I guess he may have had his holiday to Australia tomorrow on his mind. Final warning Tom, dont do it again.

Showed inexperience trying to pass it out to Valencia from his own goal-line for their first goal. Hopefully will learn from that. That's why he was subbed.

Great début season for his age, probably had to play more minutes than he ideally should have and last 5-6 games didn't look to have the zip he initially did - thankfully he will have a decent rest over the summer now and looking forward to seeing him develop over next season

Absolutely spot on mate, what a fantastic debut season he's had. Shown and done far more than any of us could have imagined and I suspect he's been pretty much the first name on the team sheet.

Hope he has a good well earned rest and comes back firing on all cylinders as it's going to be a long slog of a season next year.

Indeed, he's been the highlight of the season for me. I'd assume we're likely to play 4-3-3 quite a bit again next year as if Ross leaves we won't be shoehorning him in. That 3 of Schneiderlin, Gana and Davies will only get better, with the young man hopefully kicking on again next year. Unreal that he's still only 18. Give the lad a decent shirt number next year! Maybe 8 if Ross goes.

Didn't rate the decision to take him off. If anything it should have have been Holgate off with Davies to RB.

He'd have been slaughtered by Sanchez down that flank lad.

Davies had an iffy opening and when we had the numerical advantage it made sense to try and get some more 'spark' from midfield.

Tom's had a great full debut season (Well, half of one) and will continue to be a key part of the side going forward.

Still need another addition in that midfield though. Step up, Davy...

Won't lie, never really heard of him till the end of last season, and thought he'd not feature at all this season, in a a team with a huge amount of rebuilding and money spending on it, having a lad come through whose instantly going to be a feature for the next however many years is a massive plus, next hope is that he kicks on next season and Kenny does what he has done this season and makes himself an integral part of the first team squad.

One a year coming through saves us spending 10-20m on a player and allows us to focus on the areas we really need to bring quality in

*cough 'centre-back' * cough

Lad seems to have the exact mentality needed to not sit on his laurels and to really try to push himself on another level, brilliant seeing the young local lads come through, hopefully one or two of them show the boss that he doesn't need to go and sign squad fillers and they are ready in the pre-season etc
