I am going by what I and most fans have seen so far (which is very little, but what we have seen he looks very good indeed). How will we know if he can make the step up without trying him for a few games, were not exactly flying at the minute and have some fantastic midfielder's ahead of him.

He looks a good player. But he is still only 18 and has played only a handful of minutes at the top level. You never know how a young player will pan out and of course you wont find out unless he plays some games but a lot of us seem to be acting that he is a cant miss prospect who has already made it and is juts being left out of the team for the sake of it.

His time will come. And it probably wont be a long wait either.

Yes mate I agree, but his time is now because if we going to be spending big in January and next summer his chances of even making the squad will diminish I fear, ye he is 18 but that shouldn't stop him being given a chance.
If Koeman is not going to play him because he is worried about his age or ability then maybe in January he could go out on loan to someone and get first team experience.

I don't think He's our saviour or anything but can he do any worse than what we are seeing. If he's good enough and all that.

If he's not good enough then leave him be. I'd take the training wheels off and see how he copes, he might just surprise a few people.

That what i'm worried about.

Good or bad?

I worry that if he's not the saviour we all hope he might be that it won't be good for him putting him in such an average side at the moment.

I understand both sides of the argument really, there is no way he'd be as bad as what we've seen at times. But there is also the flip side that it might make no difference at all. And we continue to play poorly with a kid in the team. And he really is only a kid. But with lovely hair.

Still, If he's ready, who knows what effect he might have even if just for a few games. If he struggles then fine take him out but I think we have enough old heads in the side to help him through it.

I do agree the squad could ideally have a bit more confidence about it before chucking him in.
