You know nothing about Niasse. I would assume you dont know if Duffus, Dowell or whoever are ready for the first team either. So yet again you are having a go at Martinez over stuff that hasnt happened which i find to be utterly bizarre.

He has also signed a lot of young up and coming players (Lukaku, Ged, Galloway, Mori, Robles top name but a few) that I assume we are ignoring too.

Listen if you dont like him fine, I get it. But there is no reason whatsoever to have a go at him about stuff that has no basis due to it not actually happening.

Dowell is definately ready for some first team minutes! Even unsworth has said that himself

i know he sits on the bench contributing nothing to the team. dowell is more than capable of that believe me.

I like this:

This is a myth!!!!!
Any manager on the earth would of given the likes of Barkley, Lukaku & Stones game time!
Garbutt & Browning should of been used more than they have
Apart from a dead rubber in europe he will always pick elder players over young players every time
Oviedo over Galloway even though he came in to the team and did well and Oviedo is injury prone and not very good
Barry over Besic all last season when Barry was stinking the gaff out on a regular occurance
Who can forget the Hibbert over Garbutt situation against West Ham last year
How someone like Kieran Dowell has not even got a spot on the bench with the recent comments about Naisse not being fit, Kone being turd and Miralllas being out of form is mad.
Saturday he could of rested Coleman and played Connolly from the start, but he didnt want to as he didnt trust his younger player, as a result Coleman pulls up and will miss the derby and the semi.
Osman, Gibson, Pienaar will all be leaving the club in the summer and got in the match day squad ahead of the likes of Dowell, Williams, Holgate, Duffus etc

I also like this:

It is not a myth and RM has certainly helped promote youth in the club.

The premiership is an unforgiving place and only a tiny fraction of lads at any academy ever become premiership footballers.
Realistically if we bring one through per year we are doing fantastically well.
The gulf between academy football and the premiership is so wide it is difficult to imagine.
Nobody in their right mind will keep putting youngsters into premiership football until they are ready.
Ready , is so much more than physically being able to hold your own against men. It has to do with positioning, responsibility , awareness and mental toughness.
I don't know if RM will stay on as manager next season, but what cannot be denied is that during his tenure the standard of academy players has risen enormously and certainly a number of them appear to have a chance of making a career for themselves... in time.

But I feel contradicted in myself, now.

I have tried to balance that and not go too overboard in my praise of him. There are obviously examples of where he could have given more young players opportunities. I also think in particular games, like blueblue has mentioned we could have seen more young players used in particular games like FA Cup games. I'd have liked to have seen Pennington a bit more involved and would be much happier with him at right back for the derby than Connolly that's for sure.

However I don't think the facts lie. Dowell, Ledson, Davies, Browning, Pennington, Connolly, Galloway, Garbutt have all been give first team debuts by him. Alongside that Stones, Barkley, Lukaku & Deulofeu have been made into first team regulars. I think that's quite favourable, particular when compared to a lot of premier league managers. Stones and Barkley were a million miles away from first team regulars before Martinez arrived.

It could certainly be better though, and I'd like to see a De Boer type manager come in as he would continue this. However for Davies I do worry if a more conservative manager comes in as I think it would stunt his development.

As previously mentioned that any manager in the league would of given Barkley, Stones, Lukaku & Geri games. They are 4 of the best players of there age in europe!
I think it is a case of he isnt willing to trust a young player ahead of an older player and use there xuberance to his advantage.
He wont really give a 17 year old or 18 year old a chance, he thinks that you have to be 20-22 before you can even get a sniff of the first team!
Look at Garbutt and Browning, both almost 22 and barely got any sort of a chance other then the odd game here or there!
By that time they have either become disalusioned with it all (possibly Garbutt) or that inexperienced even at 22 that you cant take a risk on them

Garbutt and Browning were both there under Moyes, neither of them got time in the team until Martinez arrived! He had Barkley out on loan too, as soon as Martinez arrives he is in the team.

Barkley had just re-established himself in the match day squad at the end of Moyes' last season. Played in something like (cba to check) 9 of the last 15 games of the season including starting away at Tottenham and Arsenal.

dont think we could get a more conservative manager than martinez, lets face it davies only got a run out in a nothing game cos of massive injuries and suspensions. we'll see if he plays again in any other games when theyre all back.

While this is true, i would wait until we see how many appearances he gets to make before we make that assessment, his development in terms of first team football could go the same way now as under a new manager, Davies might go out on loan next season and we might not get to see him again under martinez.

He has form for this both here and wigan and swansea, while some of the youngsters should have been included in the squad considering some of the ageing players who are going to end up leaving, i think there is along way to go before we can say Martinez has been a better solution for the lad.

Martinez likes to buy young players, in my opinion. Barkley, Stones, Del and Lukaku while all had to be given a chance by Martinez - i think the majority of managers would have done the same. People saying Moyes had Barkley out on loan, he also had other players on loan which came in for him. Moyes also gave a massive amount of young players their debuts.

In my opinion, for us to say that martinez is good at promoting youth and backing up his words about our "golden generation", they really should have been played in other competitions mixed with older heads. We know we have some good youngsters, some will make it some won't - but the one thing ill say is we have a couple that could have had a impact this season - no fear not known and hungry, but they haven't been given an opportunity.

When these players play 10 league games for the club, then ill be thinking he is interested in our youth and promoting from within. I realise you agree with a lot of what i am saying there hahaha, just wanted to balance that while the grass isn't always greener - when the grass has turned brown it is sometimes better to jump the fence!!

You maybe right, but I would be amazed if he was involved in 9 games. The Spurs game he was taken off just after half time. At Arsenal he was mom for us, but back on the bench for the next game away at Sunderland. Osman came back in abs we lost 1-0 I think.

That was basically our outside chance of top 4 gone, with about 6/7 games to go. In pretty sure Barkley did t get much game time after that. As I remember at the time being frustrated with moyes for no giving him more chances

RM is not conservative. I think that he possibly needs to be a little more conservative
We have put out teams this season with six or even seven players under the age of 23. We have regularly played with Stones, Galloway, McCarthy, Barkley, Besic, Lukaku and Deulofeu in the same team... all under twenty three years of age.

Davies, Connolly, Dowell and others will all hopefully be stars for the future but I am not sure they are ready yet to play regularly in the first team.

People criticise the manager for not including Dowell on Saturday, but I believe the manager was looking at cover for the team. I think that it was Barkley or Dowell for the bench and the manager felt that Barkley may be needed if the game was going against us.
I believe Dowell will play before the end of the season and the manager did include him in preseason before he got injured.

conservative in his team selection without doubt. sticks by players who have repeatedly let him down and one of the things that will cost him his job.

He plays those young players cos they are the 1s he bought.

The man is about as flexible as a steel beam.

I honestly think he got his coaching badges from the back of a packet of corn flakes, ive forgotten more about football tactics than that fraud has.
