It was mentioned that Garbutt and Browning got no time under Martinez when they were 17 which totally ignores that fact that they were 17 when Moyes was there so yet again people are having a go at Martinez for stuff that was physically impossible for him to do! Its ridiculous.

Browning has been injured, Garbutt has been out on loan because at the time he had England's left back ahead of him. What are you expecting? he has blooded them in the first team which is what the issue seems to be right now that its a "myth" that he gives youth a chance.

Im honesty sick of people having a go for no reason. Have a go at Martinez for his team being rubbish, for being poor defensively, for buying the McGeady, for talking nonsense in his interviews, there is plenty to have a go at him for without people making things up and seemingly trying to blame him for stuff that happened when he wasnt even employed by us. Its utterly bizarre.

1) Puts Oviedo at right back, basicly a square peg in a round hole
2)Put Hibbert in at right back who has less game time then the unfitest man in the world Omaur Niasse

He will do one of these instead of giving Connolly a go there, that will tell you all about what Martinez thinks of giving the kids a chance

Didn't he play half a game for under 21's? He is miles ahead of Niasse fitness wise now!

He put them both on the bench this week didnt he? Why didnt he put Hibbert there then?

If Hibbert does play this week then maybe he thinks a 17 year old isnt ready for two games in a week yet, maybe he doesnt want to throw someone in for a derby match. Both of which are valid reasons.

Is Connelly even an out and out right back? I thought he could play anywhere in defence and midfield.

yeh so hibbert is more ready for 2 games in 3 days when he hasnt played in about 2 years and if he had any decency wouldve retired rather than rob the club of 30k a week or whatever hes been 'earning'!
connolly is generally a left back but plays a number of positions.

Im not defending Martinez. Im questioning why people are giving him crap over something that people think may happen (in terms of wednesdays game) or didnt happen (not giving certain youth players a chance who were youth players under a different manager.)

I have said already further up in this thread that there are plenty of valid reasons to have a go at Martinez. Having a go at him for stuff he hasnt done or may not do is just weird.

you were the one that suggested perhaps connolly couldnt cope with 30 mins on a sat and maybe playing again on a wednesday! i was refuting that as complete horsesh1t!
