Tony Hibbert

Pretty sure if that happened to you that you'd be crying into a mug of hot, steaming indignation before launching a social media tirade against all and sundry.

Difference for Hibbo is he had access to a newspaper instead.

If this never happened then he's a plank as is his agent.

Far more likely that the club have simply ignored the contact.

Mate if I am as rich as him I won't say a word add to the fact that I am an Evertonian so the likelihood is minimum. I think it's ok we have different opinion though. I agree with you the management may put him in ignore mode. This may due to his desperation in acquiring a new contract but the club was not preparing to do one.

I believe that the club should have had the courtesy to tell him thanks for his service but they weren't going to renew his contract - not leaving it for him to find out from others (and the official website).

How would you like it if your employer announced that you were leaving via the company newsletter but hadn't had the decency to tell you first?

That is a bit weird, but at the same time, if I had acquired the kind funds from said employer to retire happily several times over, on top of effectively being on garden leave for a couple of years, I wouldn't be quite so butt-hurt about it tbh.

He probably sees himself as a loyal one-club man who has been treated badly, so I can understand some bitterness. On the plus side the Club is now portrayed as a ruthless business, so perhaps we will get more respect in our dealings with agents and the media.

Some right snide beaut comments about him on here.

Bet half most of them stayed and applauded nevile when he did the round with moylez when they buggered off.

There was your archetypal parasite. Him and Osman But no, they're mancs (Or as good as in osman's case); we'll just take it out on our home grown lad. The model professional who you never read any adverse things about - until the club shat on him by not sparing him the five minutes it'd have taken to break the news to him face-to-face.

Osman IDGAF about. Those blame Hibbert for the cup final defeat are blaming the wrong fella.

And of course, it's no surprise to see who the main shitstirrer is. Self-entitlement is it? Well in my humble opinion you take the piss with your own self-entitlement to make such pathetic comments.

For shame.

My stream cut off :(

Hes been lucky to be there for as long as what he has, considering hes hardly played in the last few years,so he should be thankful that he even got his last contract which was bad enough, and that included a big wage rise-sick of the likes of him been in the stands basically picking money up for nothing, as cheerleaders really,

So he's been paid tens of millions of pounds, testimonial, played five times in the last four years, and he's furious? the self entitlement of not just him but modern day footballers is breathtaking. Can he not see that it is the manager's job to let him know if he was staying or going, and that it was just chance that the manager got cut too?
He should be kissing the floor for his remarkable good fortune.

Neville Soooooouuuthaaaaaalllllll.

Everton oh we love Everton...

Failing to see your point here, Southall does loves Everton and genuinely wants to see the best for the club. His barbs have been regarding the lack of investment and ambition.

These things have been obvious for everyone outside to see. IMHO this different to Hibbert trying to undermine the fabric of the club on what possibly could have been an oversight and is 50% his own fault because he didn't push to find out what was happening re his situation.

If I'd been at the club I love for over twenty years and then on my last day didn't get so much as a thanks and goodbye (or even confirmation that it actually was my last day) I'd be upset too.

Just wait till uncle Vlad reads it.....

Going on the got whatsapp news.

I got the impression that the senior players released weren't in the loop over it. As much as we were right to let them go, bit poor to let long standing players go without a heads up so they could arrange a new club.

Hibbert's barbs have been aimed at the loss of decency at the club and I for one applaud him for taking a stand, just as I applauded Southall for calling the previous board out for incompetence and lack of ambition.
