Coleman is not a right winger. He is horrific there.

he is better at RB but being short on numbers he would of offered us alot more IMO than osman and Barkley being out wide, Spurs were strongest in the centre today with Bale and lennon out which is why we should of taken advantage on the flanks imagine Coleman having the chance to completely get forward it would of put them under alot of pressure but both him and baines couldnt today.

What about injury time?
if the extra four minutes worries you that much, he could (and should) have come on AFTER the Mirallas goal, as I had already mentioned. If he REALLY can't last 40 minutes then why is he being paid a wage?

Gibson was alright today (not usual Gibson but still) and Heitinga did the job of shielding the back 4 and putting tackles in that Hitzlsperger couldn't do because he's not mobile or strong enough. He can't play wide either. No that Osman is great out there was no place for Hitzlsperger once we went 4-42-2.

Gibson was AWFUL today. No ifs or buts. The only time he moved at any pace was towards the end, when he was in the left side of the box unmarked and screaming for a pass and Jelavic decided to shoot instead. Heitinga, as I have already agreed, played his DEFENSIVE duties well. However he was put in midfield today and offered NOTHING in terms of attacking play. Osman was played out of position just to accommodate Heitinga, which is just silly.

I have already posted above that Oviedo should have been the sub for Barkley, precisely to provide the width that you just mentioned.

No it doesnt. It makes him someone getting the best deal for himself in a career that might last 15 years. Not like he has some attachment to us, unless I am mistaken.

Erm...think you might have taken that comment a bit too seriously mate.

Anyone who chooses the Geordies over us needs sectioned.*

*JOKE ffs.

It was a joke really...

He never moves at pace anyway. Heitinga wasn't required or expected to do anything but defensive duties anyway so I don't think you can say he was awful.

Maybe Oviedo for Barkley would've made more sense, but Moyes sees him every day in training and obviously doesn't rate the guy.

Yet another late goal.

Goals after 75mins:

Fulham Away
Norwich Away x2
Norwich Home
Spurs Away
Reading Home
Villa Away
Newcastle Home
Reading Away
Tottenham Home
Wigan Home
Chelsea Home
Oldham Away

Most of these goals were conceded after 75 apart from 1 or 2.

The majority of them were also when we were leading a game, the rest when we were drawing, never when behind.
What are people's interpretations of this? Mine is the tactic of trying to shut up shop and holding on, never working. That's an awful lot of late goals IMO.

Its sitting back for 30-40 minutes. For the most part, we invite pressure. The Norwich games in particular got to a point where they put 3 strikers on the pitch to bag a goal.

There will be the exceptions, like against Man City, but for the most part we drop deep and hoof it out hopefully to the lone striker.

We're getting better at it as we actually do have chances on the break. But the fact we dont have an out and out central midfielder who can just hold and keep the ball does hurt in the later stages of games.

Think a Carrick-type player who could just hold it and pick a pass when everyone is in panic mode. Think that Leroy Fer could've done that in January but that went tits up.
