Transfer Window Thread

Daniel Levy is a business man. Lennon has twelve months on his contract and will probably cost Spurs between 3m-4m in wages in bonuses in that time. Spurs would also then forego a transfer fee and there may even be loyalty bonuses if Lennon see out his contract.

Spurs can be up to 7m better off in transfer fee and salary savings during the remainder of the players contract...do you think Daniel Levy does not know this.

Regarding McGeady, I think the manager would probably be happy to keep him in the squad. However if the player wants to leave to play more first team football I think he would be sold at the right price which I think is probably somewhere just over 3m.

So you think our entire transfer budget was in the neighborhood of £5mil?

Seems to me yea. That's cos we didn't sell anyone last year (released a few) and only added players. The amount of wages that have gone to players not playing more than 5-10 games last season (Pienaar,Gibson,Kone) and the loanees in Lennon and Atsu could have depreciated our budget albeit not by a mamoth amount. I wouldn't be surprised if after having spent 5M on Del Bot we're left with just 5-6M more to spend before we gotta sell to add to our kitty; an option which at this stage wouldn't be bad considering we have more numbers now than quality in a few areas. So to balance them we can ship out some of those to add cash to buy a sound defender for long term which will cost a minimum of 15M.

Ok mate if you insist. You're either getting a bit bent out of shape about a few posts you don't agree with, or you've meticulously gone through my entire posting history (unlikely giving your erroneous posts about how I never have anything good to say). Either way it's a bit sad. Even if I was banging an ultra negative drum every single post (which i'm not), I'd have every right to as an Evertonian giving my opinion on an internet forum. The amount of have a go mods on here is ridiculous.. You can barely stray from the party line of unrelenting hopeful optimism when discussing the team without the usual suspects trying to police you or getting negged, all very boring. To remind you, we came 11th in a very poor league last year and that was largely down to some scraped 1-0s against very poor teams in the run in. If you cannot comprehend that there would be two sides to every debate going through the summer after a performance like that then that is stupid. This is the transfer thread, Martinez is making the transfers, he is absolutely fair game.

For a definitive post on my position towards Roberto (to save you going through your catalogue of my previous posts). He did lots of good things in his first season which he was rightly praised for even though I had some reservations about his footballing philosophy mainly the lack of creativity from centre mid. Last season was a car crash that I hold him responsible for for his refusal to react in any way to injuries, loss of form, and failing formation as well as an unprofessional pre-season. Despite this I am willing to give him another season (probably two) to allow him time to get the team he wants. If he does not rectify our glaring deficiencies in the goal keeping position and central midfield, however, then my patience with him will grow thinner as he obviously cannot see, or is choosing to ignore, where our problems lie. Hardly the outlook of 'the worst poster on the forum'.
New season though. Lets try and keep it positive. Watching us was painful last season with the atmosphere as well as the football.

thats why i think we should swerve lennon atm, levy wants to bend us over for 8m+. if lennon wants to come here let him run down his deal, he already turned down clubs to join us before
