RE: Ogbonna. Neither us or West Ham are going to be challenging for the big trophies or probably playing in the CL anytime in the immediate future so he's just gone for the location. It would be like us having the choice of Espanyol (Living in Barcelona) or celta vigo/Malaga etc.

Plus the fact he'll be an automatic starter at West Ham, rather than moving from being a backup at Juve to being a backup to Stones and Jags at Everton.

I have no idea how good he is tbh, but assuming he's not Franco Baresi mk II (which he clearly isn't), then he's not going to displace Stones or the club captain next season.

talks with west ham: you're competing with james tomkins when he's fit and james collins.
talks with everton: 1st choice - you're having a laugh aren't you, you'll be providing 3rd tier support to our captain and one of the best young defenders in europe.

Maybe thats what he meant, I mean we could have lied and said he was gonna be first choice and let him warm the bench.

Agree, if City or Man U were in for him offering him playing time, I bet the 'London' factor wouldn't even come into it as he would be playing for teams that were challenging. He's not going to choose us as we won the league x times before he was born, he wont care. He's picking up more money, living in London and playing each week.

As for people talking about our history and West Hams, it's all a bit like the kopites talking about Chelsea. Funny thing is, I bet the majority of people on here talking about West Ham's lack of history have actually seen us win a trophy with their own eyes.

History and legacy is great, but I'm all about today and jealous of the lids in the 80's who witnessed great things. All I've got is the 95 cup final as a 16 year old kid.

think he had something going on with us - vibe wise i mean...but he took the easy road. had mixed feelings after the desicion, thats why he made that kinda nice but weird statement.
