There are some good experience cb in our league but would cost to much

Ashley Williams
José fonte
Ryan shawcross

None would come to us to play 2nd fiddle.
Id go for a centre back from a lesser league, 24-27ish. Someone who would come in and we can play on the 'dont want to throw you in straight away card' similar to besic

A load of teams overtook last season, we finished 11th.

A total of six teams overtook us.

That's like saying in Roberto's first season as a club we overtook United. Of course we didn't, we just finished ahead of them as they had a bad season. We had a bad season last season but it's not as though Stoke Swansea or West Ham are suddenly taking players from us or anything like that. We're still a long way ahead of them and it would take a few years of consistent European qualification from one of those sides for a player to think 'yeah they're a better side than Everton'. West Ham might have a bit of money to throw around but by no means have they overtaken us.

It shouldn't be about coming in to sit on the bench as 3rd choice

That sends out the wrong message we should have 3 quality CB's for 2 possitions
Jags and stones need to feel under pressure

This has one been one of the big problems regarding Howard
He's never had a quality back up

People get into such a frenzy this time of year. I don't believe we were in for Ogbanna or Payet but people believe whatever is speculated.

I personally believe there is money to be spent and in the words or Martinez he is saving up for that special player.

Expect an older cb for a few million another winger for a few million and a playmaker for the big bucks. Add to that a couple of loans and that will be us this summer.

Our biggest action will be keeping all the current first choices in the Everton colours for the start of the season.

Think now it's time to move in for shaqiri as Stoke took their time with it! Think he would be quality, can pretty much play striker, CAM, winger, and even seen him play CM, so let's hope!

Agreed - I would love us to get our main signing ASAP though so we can start preparing for the season, and I think the worry for people is exactly who it will be.

We need a top quality player to show intent that Lukaku wasn't the only player we can attract.

I think we're getting slightly carried away with the fact that after less than two weeks in,it seems a player has preferred to live in London rather than Liverpool. If I was a foreigner and I'd never lived in the UK it would be my choice too.

As a denizen of Auckland, NZ, were I to choose anywhere else to live, it would be Liverpool ; no other place on earth gets almost daily doses of Aldo - love a good laugh, me.
