said it multiple times now, and it's boring for everyone but the window does really rely on the playmaker.

Our problem is creating chances for our striker, we create chances for rom, one on one, that's the difference between getting fourth, and finishing in 6th/7th.

The other signings are pleasing but theyre just covering holes, the playmaker would move us on as a club.

5.5 million for a defender. Once upon a time that would have been very exciting money. Now it seems like the goingrate for a squad player who will get 10 games max.

i can see us saving money until january to try and fund a reduced bid for yarmolenko so can't see us splashing out on a playmaker. we definitely need a couple of attackers in though. hopefully a good loan or small fees. if yarmolenko was the number one priority and someone who will apparently be available again in 4 months time i can't see us throwing it all down the drain just yet.
But Martinez has said time and again that he doesnt like buying in the January window as it doesnt provide 'value'. Not only that but Yarmolenko can sign a pre-contract with just about any team in Europe at that point for, most likely, a monstrous signing on fee. The idea that we can get Yarmolenko then really isnt that realistic imo.

Don't disagree with the need for an out and out playmaker, but things could be a lot worse. At least we haven't spunked a potential €80 million on an unknown, Rodriguez and Mori together are a mere fraction of the farcical Manure spending.

Yes it is realistic, all parties agreed the deal, it's the Dynamo involvement in the CL that has buggered it up.
If they get knocked out, we (should) get Yarmolenko in January.

that's very true mate, just think we could really make a difference as a club this season, few of our younger players hitting form, barkley, stones, rom.. just getting that player who can unlock teams.. pass to rom i think we'd win something / get 4th

whilst i do agree, if dela can play like he did vs barnsley more often than not then we won't have too much problems creating chances. ross has started the season off well and playing from deep which is also a massive improvement regarding last season.

if we don't get the playmaker now, we'll just have to accept and hope that we can hang on until january and then we really must bring that player in.
