Happy DD everyone.

I suppose we should have bought a few by now and spending the fees below would keep fans happy:-
Experienced Prem Centre Half - £20m
Up and coming winger - £20m
International forward - £16m

Instead we have spent £10m (up to now and assuming Funes Mori goes through) in transfer fees and however much else on signing on fees on an England international midfielder, a Spanish international winger, an Argentine international CB and a young attacking prospect from Uruguay. The squad IMO is stronger now and the buys we have made have every chance of making a far bigger impression than Lovren, Markovic and Balotelli who them lot bought last summer.

Face facts, if there are no more signings then we basically have the same team as we did two years ago. Any differences between the start of 2013/14 and now are negligible, and there's certainly no proof that the negligible changes have left us stronger.

Martinez said we needed 3 players, and has highlighted a number 10 all summer. I still have some doubts about Rodriguez and Mori, I have never seen them play so i cant question the scouting department, just have a feeling they weren't the number one targets for the 3 positions he wanted.

We are still down on numbers though, Martinez might thinks the younger players are ready to step up though and fill that gap.

We have got 10 right wingers though, so thats good hahahaha.
I have not been a huge fan of Martinez but it does feel like he is being patient with the squad rather than just panicking and papering over gaps. I wanted to see established quality coming into certain positions but I still trust our scouting system can unearth gems and that is more important in the long term. It will feel a whole lot more exciting if we see someone come in that we know will make a difference right now but I suspect outside City, Chelsea and United no-one else has got that

When are the so called board backers going to sit up and realise that this board is killing our great club. If any of those who support the board are on twitter please have a look at @watched toffee. He knows the ins and outs of how this board has loaned and mortgaged our future to the max. Concerning times

As a so called "board backer" I'll reserve my opinion until after 6pm today mate. A big signing would be nice.

As for watched toffee, I've yet to see any firm evidence, all theories.

As above though, this chat is for the board thread.

Also the same team that came 11th last season. Except the major weaknesses Howard, Barry, and the lack of creativity, still exist and in the first two cases are a year older.

Yep i think his comments when we where linked with Shaquiri basically proved he doesnt want to sign someone for signing sakes.

However, I think everyone can see we need to make a quality signing to actually improve creativity in the squad - besides Ross making a storming start, and Deulofeu making 3 assists the other night in the cup - am not overly sure where our goals come from, when players are picking out passes.

We need to be more creative, we have needed it for 2/3 seasons now, the fact Martinez has highlighted it and, upto now, failed to sign someone to do that shows just how crap we have been in the market.
