Transfer Window Thread

Selling permanent players to pay for loan deals? Strange economics there. Naismith's value on the pitch outweighs what we'd get in a transfer fee. At the moment he is our backup striker. In a few hours can we bring in someone to replace him? Probably not.

He's not a player. He's a corner flag that moves about the pitch rebounding passes into the path of opponents.

So its confirmed then. Everton buying players was pending on the Stones sale.
Looks that way shocking really. Waiting forthe usual speil tomorrow " we were trying right up to the deadline to do deals but it wasn't to be".

We've had all summer to get in the appropriate signings an strengthen the areas of the team we all know need addressing .....nope we'll just stick with what we've got.

But bill didn't sell stones yada yada yada

We will struggle again this season. The goal scoring thread is alone on Roms shoulders, too much if you ask me. He needs a partner with class! It´s a shame we only got Kone

Let's get a few things straight:

  1. Anyone using a number to denote a position, for example a number 10 instead of attacking midfielder, is a tripe chatting nugget of the highest order.
  2. Those having a mini meltdown and demanding signings to appease them need to take a step back from Evertoning.
  3. Anyone wetting their pants at "the drama of the day" is a FM playing virgin who has never kissed a girl.
  4. Demanding signings then bemoaning what we paid for Funes Mori just makes you look at tit. So does comparing him to that Ladyboy Southampton just signed from Celtic.
  5. If you want a reflected glow from signing £40m players on transfer deadline day then either lash yourself on Bill Kenwrights speeding bonnet or support Chelsea.
  6. You're acting like kopites, pipe down.

Good snide Chics, but just when you need to come hard like a throwback 6, your tackle comes in like a continental 7. Swing hard, my man.

the thing i don't understand and frustrates me more than anything is Roberto's constant references to needing a No10 this window. He was willing to tell any journo who would listen "we know what we need and that is a No10". surely he knows he'll look a prize winning pleb if he hasn't got one.

The thing is, realistically we have no competition anywhere in our first 11 anymore. This is where we will go wrong, who have anyone got to challenge each other?

Howard- Robles dropped for him
Baines- First choice (fair enough)
Jags (captain and only have mori to replace with)
Stones (again only mori to replace with)
Coleman (we have 0 right backs now to replace)
Barry - besic only
McCarthy - only really cleverley and barkley who both play when fit
Barkley - was meant to be signing another player like him, apparently not.
Mirallas/del/Mcgeady/piennar- Well speaks volumes who gets picked over who there
Lukaku- has kone, only kone as back up.

Point is, one or two players to challenge in key areas would have seen a increase in hard work on the pitch. Our players can casually swan around the pitch knowing chances are there is noone to drop them for. No wonder we struggle.
You seem to have missed out Oviedo, Galloway, Browning, Gibson, Osman and Naismith from your little meltdown there.

Lets be honest. Everybody at the end of last season would of been happy getting Lennon back, buying a back up centre back, getting Del boy back and bringing in someone like cleverley for a no risk free transfer. Not to mention keeping hold of Stones, Barkley, McCarthy etc...
