...it was interesting when @the esk posted yesterday that we were still paying a mortgage on Goodison. I reckon we moved in over 100 years ago, that's some mortgage. My understanding is that we have a hand to mouth financial existence. Basically no individual or group of stakeholders invest in the club. We spend what we earn and continually borrow to bridge any gap. This means no strategy just a season on season objective to exist.

Most intelligent decent minded business/ group always have a 5 year plan! That's the norm
I have not seen or heard of one from the board, and if any things been said its been words to please fans etc
But nothing ever comes bearing fruit. Sorry for the negs peeps

You are talking absolute rubbish mate. Utter clap trap.
How's so.

What part do you disagree with?

The guy would have gone to Stoke had the owner let him. The owner himself has given us the reason why he wasn't sold and he made the announcement straight after the draw. Believe what you must but it's pretty clear to me what happened.

Squad is bulked up with crap tbh - a decent number ten in, and surely we could have sold Naismith, fixed up a loan for McGeady, sacked Gibson (we've got every right) and maybe paid off half of Pienaar's contract and got him to go too.

We should still be looking to loan out Henen, Rodriguez, Galloway (once Baines is fit), Pennington and Holgate too.

Does anyone know if there was any truth in the Bernard loan rumours, was told by someone who's normally bang on with these kind of things it was possible (just before 6pm), probably nonsense.

Also what happened with the Andrade kid we had on trial, went back home sick & now joined Bournemouth, any ideas?
No the owner of Shakhtar said there was no interest from us and then the rumour died. It conveniently only came out after the Yarmolenko deal fell through.

What's the point? He didn't sign?

Yarmolenko would have gone to us because we gave him a way out. We all know that. Kiev didn't accept the deal because it was so close to the end of the window and the CL group stage was favourable to them which was something I predicted they would do.

What more is there to know?

How's so.

All of that is wrong. Unless the echo said it isnt of course.

I'm not arsed about not spending masses of money, the fact that throughout last season the need for players in specific positions was evident to everyone and not getting them in annoys me the most.

The manager then confirmed at the end of the season what his targets were, the fact he constantly went on about working to get them in through the whole summer, the fact our pre-season reinforced the need to get players in 3 specific positions, a defender, a striker and a number 10 / attacking midfielder / behind the striker in the hole between the lines David Silva wannabe, what ever you want to call it.

Yeah it's great we got Deulofeu in (although people fumed about him ???), it's good we got Cleverley in because he is pretty versatile though this wasn't a surprise because he was nailed on to sign after last summers interest in him. I'm made up we kept a hold of Stones because I honestly think he can be at the top and will be at Madrid / Barca / Bayern in 2 or 3 seasons. etc etc

Now of those primary targets we got one of those in. The manager said he had identified his targets back in May and continued to reaffirm these targets until last week. Not impressed.
