Naisy can cover Lukaku too...and even Mirallas
Can he? He scores goals when Rom takes away all the defenders but he's not exactly brilliant as a lone striker or it would appear playing alongside Kone.

Kone is really our only option if Rom is injured and as much as I want him to do well it's not looking good.

Last time that probably happened was Leeds under O'Leary with Kewell, Woodgate, Smith, McPhail, Harte & Robinson all playing regularly. Added young quality with Ferdinand, Keane, along with the experience of Radebe, Kelly, Batty & Viduka
Then they ruined it by buying Huckerby, Wilcox etc for stupid money.
Then there was West Ham with Ferdinand, Carrick, Cole, Defoe & Lampard, not as successful as the experience they had around them was tosh like Ruddock & Shaka Hislop.
Then the epitome of that was the class of 92 Scholes, Giggs, Butt, Beckham, the Nevilles and errrrr Robbie Savage.
They had Cantona, Bruce Pallister, Keane & Schmeichel to help them through.

Our lot we have with Stones, Barkley, Lukaku, Deulofeu and hopefully Kenny, Ledson, Henen, Walsh do we have enough of those Radebe's & Cantona's & less of them Ruddocks in our team to help them along

Howard, Baines, Coleman, Jagielka, Barry, Mirallas, and even Cleverley are all experienced Internationals with trophies and world cups to their names.

It's really not. There's more than 49 days till the window closes you muppet

...RM might genuinely think he's got a bumper crop of youngsters coming through in the next few seasons. It's very rare and could be a gamble but it can happen.
There's Galloway, Browning, Garbutt that we have already seen do well and Ledson and Henen are very highly thought off. Plus Roberto has hinted at a couple of others so it's definitely a possibility. I don't mind this strategy if it gets us a new stadium built.

I agree we would need new striker but it's only after CB and creative CM.
1.CB
2.#10
3.striker/keeper

So it's not exactly a priority.

Come on mate. Just read what you've written there.
Bobby has said we are only looking at 2 possible positions. We need a CB and it's more than likely we will get Lennon. Everything else is just wishful thinking although we might get a loan if we're lucky.

tbh naismiths one of the few i'd like to see us move on, get some alright money for him and just invest it somewhere else.

Understand he offers a good work rate, but his technical ability is very poor and isn't improving.

Better options out there for us i feel.
I love Naismith's attitude and personality, but personality and attitude don't score many goals. He's the type of player who's always just going to be "pretty good," no matter what league he's in. We should probably move him on.

Why is everyone complaining? We have the best squad since the 80s. It's just a shame that it's on a par with the likes of Southampton, Swansea and Stoke, all of which finished above us last year.
The premier league is looking a lot stronger next year. Should make for some brilliant football. I can't see the Spanish teams dominating for too much longer.

Apparently Sunderland have beat us to the punch for a Belgian Centreback.

North East boys are spending big this summer. Ashley has said 60 million for transfers with all cash up front for Newcastle. Sunderland have said 50 million to spend on players, while Middlesbrough are splashing the cash on Downing and a few foreign strikers.

Question for me is who are we selling this window?

If we didnt sell a first team player this summer then i think the board would deserve a tiny bit of credit, simply because it allows Martinez to build. We might not be spending millions but fairs fair in that scenario.

But i dont think we will go without selling to be honest and i think we can all highlight who are the most likeley candidates. But if we go without selling then that has to be some sort of bench mark for the club going forward that martinez has to adhere to.
Yeah lets give them a round of apllause for not selling players on the manager. FFS
