I do think there's something to be said for quality over quantity, though.

The signings we definitely need:
- Playmaker
- Centre half

If Mirallas leaves, add in a winger as his replacement. A back up RB wouldn't go a miss either, on the cheap/loan.

But I really do think those two signings (playmaker and a CB) are all we need given the squad we have now - which Martinez has said isn't going to be as big. A back up RB would be nice, but unless Mirallas left o don't think we'd need another winger.

He's not said anything bad about Kone, not his style - but not playing him when supposedly fit and us desperate for goals/wins says a lot

Honestly go back and watch some of our games after Christmas, he had some good games and looked all over the place in other games. I like Jags I just think he needs some serious competition.

That will make us stronger. It will still have been a good window but ultimately a bit disappointing after the brilliant start. No marque play maker which is what we probably needed to get top 4.

That 'marquee playmaker' will only come if Kev leaves I think - as in a £15mil+ signing. There not easy to find and harder to buy.

I'm positive McCarthy won't leave. He's too important to Bobby and the team. Contract needs sorting out quickly though.

They got found out fannying about with the ball at the back no two ways about it, and of course good players get found out Andros Townsend for example was good cutting in and shooting got found out now sits on the bench.

By then he won't be available. We're better off keeping Kev and that's exactly what we will do.
 
I don't know why some people keep saying unless Martinez plays 3 at the back, the new CB would just sit on our bench. No, it won't. We only have 2 senior CB at the moment. Distin and Alcaraz played about 30 odd games (add together) last season.

Why do you think they held onto the ball at the back more ??
