Daily mail saying spurs are in for McCarthy..

Lennon valued at 9 million plus 12 mill cash!

Try 20 mill and lennon. I still wouldnt be happy with that tho.

Not sure how to link of this kindle!

going to take a wild guess that mccarthy's bankrupt agent is the one planting these stories to get a new contract. Simple really, you don't want a guy who's crap with money as your agent - get james to sack him, hire another and see if the stories continue.

Yep I agree, think it's the agent fishing for a new deal, the quotes in this article are from his post match interview at the end of April, so about 6-7 weeks ago, seems to be pretty happy with life at Everton.

For £8m we could into the sky. Yet
Eh?

Two early signings, one of which was a free, versatile midfielder and the other being Deulofeu for 4 mil. Been a pretty decent window so far IMO.

Getting a player we had once who did okay but nothing amazing in Deulofeu, taking a gamble on Cleverley of a proven playmaker and now buying a centre-half absolutely nobody wanted us to get, for £8m nonetheless.

I'm hardly jumping for joy personally. Still time for us to make a big signing or two that will lift everyone but none of these three have come close to doing that.

Jagielka and Stones can't dislodge phil jones from the England starting 11.
Are you trying to imply that Evans is as good, if not better, than Jags and Stones?

Everyone is wetting their knickers because Newcastle and Sunderland have been spending a bit of money on some unproven foreign players and we haven't. Sad really.

If we still haven't signed anyone else before the season starts I'll start to worry. For now we're doing fine.

I'd disagree with you on Deulofeu. He wasn't consistent (19 year old wingers in their first year in the league seldom are), but he did have amazing moments and flashes of brilliance. 4 mil is a steal given his very obvious potential.

I doubt Cleverly has been signed at the expense of a playmaker if that's your worry on him.

As for Evans, nothing is official yet. But assuming we do sign him for the reported 7-8 mil then yeah it'd would certainly seem like we've overpaid. But I honestly can't say I know too much about Evans to comment on whether he'd be a good signing.

But yeah so on that I could hardly call this window depressing, nothing special is a fair assessment but even then we've got a month and a half to go.

Assuming no major outgoings... I'd only worry if we didn't get a CB. Though I'd be disappointed if we didn't get a playmaker.

We have had MUCH more depressing windows than this one. This feels strange, but it is the first time in a long time I feel like we won't lose one of our better players. I'd say it has been a fairly boring window though, we knew Cleverly was pretty much signed and Deulofeu's deal dragged on for weeks in the papers.
