Why not do what the RS did then and quote a price? Tell them we want £50m or don't bother. At least then when we do sell whoever we can get targets identified and players in.

We have a limited pot, which can only go so far,which means we have to pick and choose.
The obvious downside of that is that we're bound to miss out on some targets because of either the transfer fee itself or wages.

We knew that before the window opened. From day one I've thought, and said, we'll have 15 to 20m to spend ( barring outgoings ). Chances are we're looking at one decent permie coming in on a fee and one or two loans.

Folks can whip themselves up into an internet based fume if they like, but that's the reality of the situation.
