As long as we don't sign Jonny Evans...

I'm also growing increasingly concerned that Martinez is thinking of playing Cleverley in the final third, rather than replacing Barry week in, week out.

But didn't bother?...

Celtic wouldn't let him go

He's been wanting out since last summer, but Celtic have held firm and refused to sell him

This summer they have essentially relented to let him go. They have an unofficial agreement with him that they will sell once the Champions League Qualifying is concluded

It's exactly what happened with Fraiser Forster when he left

He want's to play for Holland and he won't get in their team until he leaves Scotland and plays in a bigger league

Make no mistake, if we don't sign him someone else will and he will be brilliant for them. He'll be in a Premier League or Bundesliga team by the end of this window and, should he not get a terrible injury, he will be first choice for Holland by the next World Cup

He's ALL that and a pack of crisps

The Clev was always gonna play in the final 3rd, for some reason El Clowno seems to think hes the English Riquleme.

If that happened after all the long talked of need for a specialist playmaker (both from him and those covering Everton) then my confidence in him would be rocked.

I cant see us not getting someone else in, tbh. The hold up is the sale of players to fund it, because it's increasingly obvious to me now that the tv cash has been channeled elsewhere this summer.

I also think his lack of playing time given over to McAleny might indicate he knows he's going to bring a play, aker in. He's not busting a gut seeing if he could be the answer there rather than pay out...which is what I'd expect an Everton manager to do in the circumstances.

Unless a sale is realistic and so we're saving whatever we have to compliment sale income.

Our number 10 target could change considerably with income from sale.

Me too, Cleverley should have been signed to play center mid and no where else.
