Even when Barkley isn't playing great he's still one of our better players. There will be times he will need dropped like Rom last season but this constant desire by some that he's borderline a 1st 11 player is ridiculous. It's just as ridiculous as the calls to drop Rom and have him fighting for his place.

On talent yes, but when he wasnt playing great last year he was one of the worst players on the pitch and that was more often than not

TBF the ross of 13/14 still needed to be more consistent, and he wasnt much of a creative force.

Hes the powerful driving type, now we need the opposite to compete with him, a silky flair type

He's just been playing in the wrong position. Well it was the right position to get him experience but now it's time to move back.

I disagree. He was just viewed more harshly because we know what he can do.

This is more interesting to me. I'm 100% in favor of using those funds to find a player who complements Barkley when both are on the pitch. If either of those players fit that description sign 'em up!

Speculation about Mirallas moving thankfully seems to have died down. Anyone know if Monaco has signed any wingers this summer - they looked one of his better options given they are in the CL.

Kristof offhandedly mentioned him today.

I think Monacco's interest was to replace Martial who was strongly linked with Spurs, he signed a contract extension a couple of weeks ago so hopefully that has ended their interest.
