Transfer Window Thread

End of last season he was going on about how he wanted to get stuff done early so there would be lots of time to integrate players and get things right, better than last preseason. But now we're in he situation were we still need at least 3 players with less than 4 weeks of the window (minus Sundays) and 4 days from the first game of the new season.
no, he said we'd get a couple in early then we'd be looking to bring another two maybe three in later on towards the end of the window.

don't make things up.

This is what I'm on about, and I'm sure that Soccernomics book probably addressed this as well. There is a school of thought that would recommend a club with the financial limitations of Everton should target players who fit into the following categories:

1 - Players who are cheaper than their talent would suggest because they are "proper bells" but can be rehabilitated with the right kind of environment.
2 - Players who are cheaper than their talent would suggest because their contract is running out.
3 - Players who are cheaper than their talent would suggest because their current club is in the midst of severe financial duress.
4 - Players who are cheaper than their talent would suggest for nearly any other reason.
5 - Players who are cheaper than their production would suggest because every other club is biased.

It's not a complicated philosophy, although it takes real commitment to execute it with any kind of sustainable success. Find an undervalued asset and nurture it until it reaches its potential.

Still ruing the fact we didn't take a punt on Ravel Morrison.

I get that Martinez wants to get the right type of player with the character to fit the squad which might take time or not even happen, but seriously when we have so many crocked players, players who cant play 60 minutes or make 2 appearances a week and no quality subs then you have to take measures to get people in asap.

Are you ITK about some Puritan players, are we about to raid Plymouth Argyle for some of their brethren?

The BBC are reporting that the premier league teams have spent over £500m so far this summer and Everton have spent £4.5m

It just shows how far behind other teams we really are, financially

I think people are confusing 'can't' spend and 'haven't' spent.

Martinez has been quoted on a number of occasions that he wants to until the end of the transfer window to sign players. Or rather utilise the whole transfer window.

Wouldn't surprise me if we saw a similar window to his first (when we sold fellaini). Few in early, then lots of late activity (especially if we sell stones).

Minge the read info.

It means an Italian TV show said Shaqiri has interest from Shalke, Dortmund and plucky Ebepton.

Which probably means f all as english tv shows pretty much try and flog john stones off im guessing italian media do the same

Sure there'll be some hyperbole spouted on sky today when they visit GP and we roll out Snods, Stuart or Sharp, maybe all three ( modern day holy trinity !) Party line will be about getting 2 in early and finding right players !

As one poster put I don't think we haven't got the money. More a case of waiting for right deal.
